RCT3 Wild = adware?

The Zoo Tycoon stuff was pushing me to the brink of no thank you, but if this billboard stuff holds true, there's no way it's goin' on my machine....

Not sure its exactly adware, but it updates advertisements, which may mean that it replaces old advertising so it doesn't take up space.
I guess I just get nervous hearing the combination of update, ads, in game, and real name companies.... a rose by any other name imo....

Not adware in the sense of crappy, malicious programs.

But it will be advertising space in game, that is sold and rotates (not unlike ads on websites).

This quote is from David B on the official forums:

Advertising

I realise there is a lot of concern about this - with us too. We will review it based on the results from the beta. We also will vet any ads for unsuitable material, and no, you do not have to use this feature, in any case.

On the up-side, this should generate some revenue, and this will be used to support RCT3 further.

That´s just incredible! Sadly this is whats coming for games in the future. As long as kids are actually cool with the idea of paying for ads, its going to get worse.

The problem is that you not only get fresh ads in your game on a constant basis. Your game replies to the company which levels you are playing, how long you are playing and so on.

Since Wild looks as crappy as it does, I don´t have a problem to ignore it.

I stopped following anything RCT related after RCT2, so the game company already lost my money due to complete lack of interest in the remainder of the series.

Oh yeah, and if it updates advertisements, it's adware, plain and simple. And the adware/billboard refreshing concept just serves as additional motivation to avoid any future games from that company that "feature" billboards with advertisements.

Yes...let's hope this idea goes the way of the pee in the pool idea and is never seen in the retail version.
Yay! $30 for adware and spyware.
Also if it is worthy buying and right now i doubt it, I hope theres a way to shut it off.
