YAY! I'll probably get it for the Mac too as I use my Powerbook more than my PC.

Whoo!

I have an iBook G4. Will my graphics card handle it?

No idea, but I say yes depending on how old it is. It won't look the best, but it'll still work!

Also, where do you live pkidelirium? I'm going to U of Dayton in a few weeks to start college.

Yes! There IS a Jesus!

When, When, When!!! I'm suprised it took so long to get this program onto Mac platform! Seing as that I'm a graphic designer.... I've been dying for this game to get onto Macs since the first version!

Anyone know when we can expect this to take place and be available?

November-ish 2005.
Yay! Now it can suck on two completely different processor architectures! ;)

My feelings exactly. Although who knows... they have to port all the Direct3D stuff to OpenGL, so there's always the possibility that they can look at the code and make some tweaks. Unless, God forbid, they just write a wrapper. Ugh.

Hey I'll take what I can get. RCT was the only thing I really missed after switching to Apple, even if I did suck at it! ;)

The only reason I don't have a Mac is because of the RCT series. Maybe it's time to get a new computer. :)
I used Mac in school once, wasn't getting the hang of it. And frankly there to damn expensive. Yeah, windows has its problems, but thats what most games are made for anyways.

I would much rather have them port RCT2, personally. RCT3 never really appealed to me.

The problem with RCT2 (and 1) was that it was done in assembly language, making it nearly impossible to convert to PPC from x86.

Now that Apple is switching to Intel processors (in case you didn't know), does this mean it will be much more possible/easy to port the older games?

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

For the record, the only coaster sim out there that's actually worth using has been mac friendly for a while now...

When Macs go Intel, it won't necessarily make games easier to port, because the part of code that talks to the hardware in Windows is, more often than not, DirectX, the API (application programming interface) that allows developers to write code that talks to a uniform interface regardless of what the underlying hardware is.

OpenGL is also an API that talks to 3D hardware, but it's an open standard. So if the video card manufacturers support it, you can write code against it. NoLimits, Doom 3 and others use OpenGL, so the port is a little easier because (with exceptions) you don't have to rewrite all of that graphics code. It's not as simple as recompiling the program for the different CPU, but it is easier.

I wonder if this mac version would gain peoples attention, or whether it has better performance. Just a few key thoughts.
I seriously doubt it.

I'm in Xenia, 15 miles east of Dayton.

EDIT: My iBook G4 I bought it in March. *** Edited 8/8/2005 10:17:28 PM UTC by pkidelirium***

If I could afford it, I'd rather have a mac too, so I can run certain things better than others, pc's come with too many problems...but hey all computers have problems. Woot for MAC! :)
