RCT3 already discounted in the UK

Amazon.co.uk have already discounted RCT3 from the RRP of £34.99 to £29.99. This is good news, but it annoys me that the release date is November 19, instead of November 2 like it is in the US. The game is being developed in the UK, how come it takes over 2 weeks to release it here?

I don't know, but even then Atari maintains that the release date is fluid. I'm still hoping for sooner than later!

My somewhat educated guess as to why it will take two weeks longer to be released in the UK is because it is being distributed by Atari, which is a US company.

Atari being a US company will probably be having the disks pressed in the United States for 2 reasons:
1) they are based in the US
2) The majority of thieir target audience is in the US

Then once the disks are made and packaged. They need to be shipped over to Europe, Which will probably be done by boat(the cheapest, and easiest way to send LOTS of items at once). Thiss will take at least a week. Then it needs to go through customs which takes a couple days. Then the games go to the European distributor. Then after another couple of days they get shipped to your local retail store. Total shipping time....approximately 2 weeks.

Of course this is a guess, based upon my knowledge of the gaming industry, my experience dealing with overseas shipping, and logic.

Infogrames, which made up the bulk of the company when the name changed, was French.

ribbit.

The Americans get everything first. The only thing we got before them is foot n mouth disease :/

Us Americans don't get phones first. And usually we don't get games first either, Japan does.
I think that is most odd, but I say Danimal has the right idea, US companies do like products made in the USA then shipped elsewhere!
