Rct2 Patch

Whenever I upload certain park recreations I get a message saying Invalid data yadayadayada. Is there a patch that can stop this if so please tell me.

Thanks

There was never a patch for RCT1 or RCT2, There are only patches for RCT3. Sorry, try reinstalling.

Invalid data yadayadayada isn't a very descriptive error.

What's the error really say? Where's it occur? What were you doing at the time?

What would uploading a park have to do with the game at all?

I'm thinking what you may have meant to say is "When I open certain park recreations..."

If so, it means the park you're trying to open includes custom scenery that you don't have.

I'm pretty sure the Invalid Data errors all refer to missing scenery or other data items.

Gonch is right, or even sometimes, after I havn't even played that certain park (Like a year), it gives me errors. Don't know why, but it does, and I havn't messed with any of my RCT files. But when I load a park with custom scenery, it loads the new scenery into my hard drive before the park loads. So yeah, dunno whats wrong with yours.

This is why I save in order... example:

Park (Could be Year 10)
Park 1 (Year 20)
Park 2 (Year 30), ect....

I save a new number everytime I do somthing major. *** Edited 8/19/2005 1:07:48 PM UTC by Keith2005***

It loads the scenery on mine but some don't

Some don't because the creator of the file didn't tell it to. There's a box you check (somewhere, honestly it's been so long that I forget) that includes all the necessary data with the saved game file.

If that is checked by the person who made the file, the needed data will load with the park. If they didn't check it, it's up to you to find out exactly what custom items they used and install them yourself before opening the file.

BTW, there is a patch on the RCT2 website. They have troubleshooting at this link:

Hopefully this helps.
