I just worte this HUGE thread about my horrible experience at Wal Mart with RCT2. It got deleted because I put in the wrong password though. I'm not going to rewrite it. I'll just sum it up....
I went to Wal Mart to get RCT2. They had the game but wouldn't sell it to me because it wasn't supposed to be out yet. However, it was sitting right on the shelf with all of the other games. They were rude to me and did not apologize for the hassle.
Can you believe it?!?? They had it sitting with all of the other games because somebody screwed up and put it out early. They could have at least apologized to me!!!
It must be nice to be one of the people who already has one.

Dude...I would go back to that Target if I were you and put my hands on one of the RCTII boxes.
It is the law (well, at least in California) that if anything is put up on display or up on a shelf, they are required to sell it to you. They can't give any excuses. But if its not on the shelf, and is in storage in the backroom or something, then you can't use that as your argument ;)
I rarely "boycott" places, but even I can't stomach going to there anymore.
Go to Target.

-Why a car if i could have a coaster train on wheels??
I checked WalMart and they didn't have it, but it was the only place that had a place marked out for it, with a price up and everything. It was just empty.
Target didn't even have a place for it (though one of the guys who worked there was nice enough to go check in the back anyway... nothing).
Also not at EB, Toys-R-Us, Best Buy, or CompUSA yet. Ugh. Oh well. Guess I have to wait...
Well it's on the shelf at the Wal Mart near me!
I understand that accidents happen. It's no big deal. I just wanted an apology. I've been waiting so long for this game and when I think I've got it, they take it away.
They should have said "Oh, we're sorry. Would you like us to reserve a copy for you?" Instead they made it seem like it was my fault.

We don't shop at Wal-Mart because I don't need anyone telling me what kind of music I can't buy.

Funny....I shop Wal-Mart specifically for the bleeped editions of various artists' albums. You know where to find 'em--next to the violent, profane and unedited R-rated videos and DVDs. Ahhh, sweet hypocrisy.
I didn't bother looking for RCT 2 there, though--the Duhhhhhh factor runs pretty high in their stores near me.

Do you have better chances with getting Rct2 in smaller towns that have a Best Buy, Walmart or Target? What are the chances? Also anyone know if Big Kmart stores are selling copies?

I've tried St. Paul Midway, Eagan and Apple Valley Targets without success. The Lakeville SuperTarget store isn't open yet and the AV Wal-Mart hardly gets albums on the shelves by the scheduled release date--much less anything else.
I think we live too close to Target's corporate HQ for slip-ups.

I went to a Target, EB, Babbages, Kaybee, and another Wal Mart today and nobody has it. They all have a sign for it that says coming soon.
Also, wouldn't selling the game early mess up first week sale statistics and such?

Hey SonOfMagnum,
I pulled the same thing at a walmart in Decatur. They had a whole display of the game sitting out. Went to buy it and was told they could not sell it. Talked to manager and got it. While I was paying for the game, the manager started taking the display apart and put the games into a cart to take to the back of the store. Oh well, ain't my fault somebody screwed up. Just as long as I got my copy:)
