RCT2 for x-box

While looking for some information on RCT2 on the infogrames forums I came across a post which asked if RCT2 will be available on x-box and I found a link to a site that is already taking reservations for the x-box version.

From what I read the x-box version will be available in March 2003,while it still doesn't solve the problem that us win95 users are having it's a lot cheaper & easier to just buy an x-box game console +the x-box version of the game than it is to do an entire upgrade of the PC.

That should be a no-brainer, since an X-box essentially is a PC anyway!

Now the hard part about it is getting the $200.00 for the system as well as the cost of the RCT2 software.

By doing it that way I can also have the luxury of playing RCT2 on my TV instead of having to sit at the computer playing it.

I don't have an x-box but I do have a PS2. Does anyone know if they will release it for PS2?

It will not be released for PS2. The ONLY reason it's being released for XBox is that XBox is bascially a PC (same machine language, same programming environment), so it's easy to port.

Not fair at all, finally X-Box gets something worth $200.

I'm finally glad I waited the 6 1/2 hours in line last year to buy the X Box the day it came out! And people complain about waiting two hours for a coaster! ;)

If you want to play on the TV, don't spend 200 bucks, spend more between 80-120 and get at TVator, you can make your TV a monitor!

your best bet would be to go buy a GeForce2 or 3 video card w/TV out (or any other card w/tv out..i just recommend the GeForce cause its a great card), they work great...then you can play it on the TV as well instead of having to dish out even more money for another copy of the game for the xbox.

i have an xbox but you wont see me buy the same game...anyways i think it would be kinda weird playing it with the xbox controller lol

I won't be getting RCT2 on Xbox. Seems pointless, the graphics won't be enhanced on the Xbox, you can't trade parks or tracks as easy, what's the point? It's really a PC game... SFNE Freak, Xbox finally gets something worth $200? Ever played Halo? Sheesh....

Well, this is somewhat good news. I have a Mac, and i'm pretty darn sure there'll never be a Mac version of the game. I'd rather spend the $200 on an X-box to play it, than buy a whole new PC. =)

Once the X Box goes on line I don't see why you won't be able to uplaod and trade coasters. The only downfall is having the broadband connection.

It will also give me somthing to do when my girlfriend is playing games online. I just wonder how it will look on a tv sinc computer monitors have a higher resolution compared to a plain old tv.

Don't forget the Sims is being turned into a PS2 game. I'm pretty sure that its going to be an exclusive for the PS2.

Well if they would just release a win95 version of RCT2 then I wouldn't need to consider getting X-BOOX at all.

As is I probably can't even do it because of the cost of the system,,I mentioned it to my mom & she's like I'm not paying $200.00 for X-Box just so you can play 1 game on it.

So unless they make a win95 version it looks like I'm out of luck with trying to play RCT2.

BATWING FAN, why not just update your OS?? cheaper then an XBox, and anyways Win95...well its got alot of issues...i mean all microsoft OS's do lol but 95 is pretty bad

The Sims probably isn't written in assembly language, but in a higher-level, more easily ported language like C or C++

For the last time, there is NO market in making a Win95 game. You could try it out, and it *might* work, but expect zero support if it doesn't. You're running a seven year old operating system that is so many versions behind, so insecure, so archaic and old and out-of-date, that almost NOBODY uses it any more, and NOBODY supports it any more (not even Microsoft). You have no room to ***** here. Either update your OS or just deal with the facts that you aren't going to get any NEW software. Either way, stop whining. And start saving for a new system. It's about time.

My only suggestion for you Batwing SFA Fan is to look into upgrading your OS . How old is your system anyway?

Here's the minimum system requirements for RCT 2:

operating system: Win 98/ME/2000/XP

Pentium II 300 MHz or equivalent

Memory: 64MB Ram

Hard Drive 100 MB free space

4x or higher CD Rom

4 MB Windows video card

Find out what your system needs I'm guessing more memory, and the hard drive space along with the new operating system.

I'm sure you can probably get Win 98 cheap on Ebay. Maybe even the rest of your parts too.

This is great!! i just bought an x-box and i love it! I cannot wait until March 2003.

My system is fairly new,we just got it last year.

The only thing I'm lacking is win98,I'd simply have to switch from win 95,(which came pre-installed on the computer) to win 98.

I'm pretty sure that the processer as well as sound card meet the system requiorements I'm not sure about the video card though.

The problem with switching OS's is due to the fact that the computer we are using ddoesn't belong to us,it was only given to us for my mom to use for online office work,as is I shouldn't even be running RCT1 on this thing.

IF I were to upgrade to win98 would I have to uninstall all programs and then reinstall them or can I simply install win98 over the existing files?
