RCT Trainer has Viruses and Trojan

'Ello All Coaster Fans,

I posted this in the main forum and got misunderstood....this is found in some TRAINERS and not anytype of Hack/WAREZ/etc. Version of the game. I have bought the game as everyone else should (espcially when it's as cheap as it is). The one file listed below is a zip of a trainer. Anyways. Thanks for understanding...

Just to let you all know. As I was building my new computer I have found in two seperate versions of RCT cracks one being RollerCoasterTycoonCrack.exe and the other I have not been able to name as of yet (due to the maker and not being sure if it's from that person) 2 VERY harmful Viruses and 1 Back Door Trojan. They are stopable and I have found them on 4 other computers that I have checked that I have not shared files with. So I can tell you it's probably in somwhere in the master download of any of the RCT cracks (I guess this is what people get when they try to cheat). Anyways I can tell you that have traced the backdoor trojan and it does and can attach itself to actual park files. SO please be VERY VERY careful in what you do and PLEASE get some sort of Virus protection program ie. Norton, etc. I have been researching this for the last 2 weeks just to make sure where it has come from, so please spread the word and protect yourself and others so you can enjoy your system and game. Thanks.

I think what he is trying to say is that park files and ride files are being corrupted by this virus somehow by people using the cracked game and these park files are being distributed on the internet. It is a warning for those who download parks. Then again, I may have misunderstood this as well as Jeff supposedly did when he cancled this the first time.

Thanks for the warning RollerCoasterGod. The people that crack the game are the ones that are making the parks that have the viruses in them right? I don't download to many parks anyway but I have my new virus software and Zonealarm that are pretty good at catching the crap before it happens. Why would anyone want to copy the game when they can go to Wallyworld or K-Factory when they can get it two for one anyways?

You mention Trainers - what trainers?

A crack and a trainer are two completely different things.

I am the author of the Beast Trainer, and there are no viruses or trojans in it.

Hey Grant,

I totally agree a crack and a trainer are two totally different things. I should tell the main reason I can't track any of this fully. From what I can tell. All of this came from a zipped file. Unfortunately anyone and myself that I have talked to already deleted this. But at least one other and myself remember this being listed as a trainer. Now this has also been awile since it's pretty old. I can honestly say it's not a beast trainer though. From what it looks like someone copied the trainer modifed it and put it up and whala. Again I'm no viurs expert or anything. But if anyone has any suggestions on how to find a deleted zip file, let me know. Thanks for the time! And See ya the parks!!

Delete a zip file? Thats easy, RCGod. Just highlight it, and push the delete button on your keyboard. Select Yes, then empty the recycle bin (assuming you are using Windows, but thats the only platform RCT runs on.)

If you have a virus keeping you from doing that, then get rid of McCafee, get Norton, and fix it that way. McCafee sucks (well, since 6.0 was released), Norton rules!

Hey, look, I have a signature now! Even if it is only Yatta...

How to FIND a deleted zip file, you read the question wrong.

Hmm... if you just deleted it but did not empty the recylce bin it will be in there.

If you did empty the recycle bin it's a different story. There is a program that can try and recover such files, but it's reliability is near 0 except for some types of files.

One suggestion for the future: buy Norton utilities, it contains a program that can recover most, if not all, files that have been emptyed from the recycle bin.
