RCT contest

I was searching the RCT forum to see if this site has ever had a RCT competition. It hasn't, it hasn't even been talked about. I was thinking, since the offical site isn't doing it, maybe this site can have one. The winner can get a huge prize or just their name on the front page. I think it would be off the hook and I know I would participate.

Why? Because I've poo-pooed on half the ideas that come up in the suggestions? There's a reason for that, and it has everything to do with time consumption and financial resources. When someone suggested I should put navigation at the bottom of the pages, that was a good idea (and it only took me six months to do it). When people didn't like the Flash music, I nuked it.

However, when someone wants me to offer a service that will kill my server, cause great expense, or do something too time consuming, I'm not going to pretend I'll think about it. I'd rather be honest.

hehe, I can understand Jeff being honest, I think it's the best way, rather than getting hopes up. However going back to the competition, I think it's a great Idea. I've tried holding competitions before, but i just didn't have the traffic needed for it to work efficiently. CB definetely has the traffic, and Jeff is great at updating things, so we know it wouldn't just die for no reason.
I'll definetely enter if u decide to have one!

Danimation has a contest going on right now. You have to build a Christmas themed park. But if you take a look at the prizes you may not even try it. Third prize: An e-mail from Danimation
Second prize: A Danimation T-Shirt
First prize: A $30 gift certificate for Amazon.com

But I mean with this, you don't even have to get anything, you could just have your name on the front page. But if Jeff decides to do it, its gonna be his way

I don't look at prizes as motivation, I definetely would've entered the christmas thing at danimation had I found out earlier. In fact I already had a christmas park in mid-production.
It features a green B&M titled "the grinch"... with the original grinch theme song playing.

Haha, what a great idea Jephrey! I don't care if there is a prize or no prize, I would glady have the title of winner and that is all that matters. So it looks as if Jeff digs the idea, so now what must be decided is what to compete with. Best wooden twister, Best steel twister, Best park, etc, etc. It doesn't really matter to me. I would also like to suggest to try and use a small map for the competition if not too much trouble.
