Well Shawn, we meet again. I have a serious problem with one of my parks that you can definitely help me with...if you want to after taking offense to our geology problem with CP. I have tried 3 times to gain the objective of Whispering Cliffs. I have achieved 22 out of the 40 objective so far, but not WC. Can you help? I have built giant coasters, a mini steel underground, rides down at the water, trees, flower beds, but cannot seem to have a park value of $17,000. What do you do to achieve the objective???

Some added advice for RCT lovers that I have found interesting:
1) Build anything with On ride photo in the first year, then you will have enough money for everything you want in the next 3 or 4 years.
2) Hire Handymen. 4 per year minimum.
3) Hire security and footpath them in the corners of the parks.
4) Hire Maintenence men for as many rides you have in the park (don't footpath them!!), then you don't get stuck when the Brakes fail.
5) Where there is space, dress it up with trees, flowers, shrubs. Decorate as much as possible, this keeps people in the park, even when they don't have money. (speaking of which, what about an ATM machine in the next expansion pack.)
6) Water rides need tunnels to be exciting (7 or above)
7) Que lines of 8 or more on slow rides are a killer, people don't spend money as fast.
8) and last, Advertise. a) right away to get people in the park, more people more money for you. b) Each new ride for 2 weeks. c) Like crazy the 3rd year, so you can crush the objective.
I hope these help our novice RCTer, Shawn. This is a good idea.
I know what you mean about this scenario... I have had one heck of a time with it... I started out small, with maybe a few common rides and a coaster. (it was a steel coaster) When people got into the lines, I jacked the prices up and got more money from it. I didn't borrow money until I wanted to do some major construction.. whe I was done, I payed off as much as I could.. and do the the same thing over again... I fell short for that scenario, so I got a trainer and completed it.... the rest were ok.. I lost everything when my computer crashed however... right now I am just really playing around with one scenario i completely did by scratch... (Evergreen gardens) I submitted it to a site.. I don't know if he put up the updated one... I'll include the link here and if you want, send the updated one to you.. (have to have the addon pack).... heres the URL: http://www.coaster2000.com/multimedia
there will be a link at the bottom saying "submissions page- click here" and click there... mine is at the bottom saying 'a specail scenario, lots of hard work.. that one is evergreen without the add on.. and the one that says to down load it under that is mine with the addon... (not updated I guess).. Well, I'm sorry I couldn't help ya out.. if you have any other questions, I'll try to help ya with those :)

I had the same prob with that stupid WC. I just dont know why I have trouble with Fun Fortress.

My best tip is nothing.
That or build shuttle coasters early on. Theyre cheap and good money makers.

No kidding about the shuttle coasters with an On Ride Photo, they are huge money makers. I'm going to try Shawn's ideas on borrowing money, I have never had to do that in a scenario yet, but I may have to in Whispering Cliffs, that's a pain. Funtopia became good for me, I barely made it, too. I built a River Ride (Snake River Falls) through the loop of the Big Coaster and put Whoa Bellys (on each side of the road) one in the middle of the Boomerang Coaster. The River Ride and the Go Karts gave me enough cash to survive. I also put a Virginia Wheel crossing over the road into my mini-steel coaster, then sent it back, that was big. The last thing I did to get money before year 3 was putting a train around everything with tunnels, $2.00, that gave me enough to advertise and get the objective. Also, put a scrambled eggs up right away next to the cross walk, then replace it in two years with the whoa belly, using the same que. The Water slide, River Rapids (Thunder Canyon) combination in the back corner also became big in year 2. I'm going back to Whispering Cliffs to try it again. The other one I'm having problems on is Jolly Jungle. Heck, tree removal is a pain in the dinosaur butt. Plus, they don't give you good rides right away to make up the cost. As you can probably tell, I do not spend more than 8-10 years in a park, I want to beat the games first before I go back and make it better. That's just the way I like to play, it's a better rush for me to make the deadlines.
If I remember that scenario well, I think I made the coaster go down under the ground from the top... no chain lift up.. only one to bring it to the station... I had like 2 main coasters.. both were partially underground and above ground... Do you want my scenario of Evergreen gardens?

You know, I do want it. I'll get it tonight. It will be interesting to see some of your ideas. Have you guys ever submitted a coaster to their competitions?? I downloaded some of the coasters, they are pretty good, but boring when it comes to speed. I guess I want my wooden coasters with a little more pizazz.
