RCT, CF, & LL Sales?

I was just wondering if anyone knows how many of the original RCT were sold so far? Also the percentage of people who bought  the expansion pack/s.

You know, I actually saw that number in a gaming magazine somewhere. It's pretty staggering, but I don't remember exactly. You might check PCDATA.com, but who knows if that info is there.

ive noticed a lot more stores diplaying RCT lately.  I saw like 30 copies @ the checkout area of Best Buy.  (and i saw 2 people buy it.  i told em they better be ready for addiction.;) )
I don't know any specific numbers myself either, but I do see it as the most widely-distributed coaster game out there.  While you can find the different games at different stores, RCT seems to be the one you can find anywhere -- Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Kmart, etc.  It can be harder to find the expansion packs sometimes, however, especially the original Corkscrew Follies (are they even making it alone anymore?), since Loopy Landscapes has them both.

It's really weird... RCT has had the staying power of Ron Jeremy on Viagra. To think that other developers, with all of their integrity and high hopes, sit around trying to build the perfect game that's going to make their publisher happy, only to have this game from a development team of one sell millions of copies and take up shelf space for years. That's gotta piss them off.

Its a four year old game, and people are still buying it.

The sequel is gonna be even better....

Heck I'd be happy with the sequel if it was exactly the same, but with a 3d view...

RCT... i've been playing it since 98

It's almost sad... I mean, it's not only in the top 10 every week for the past so many years since it first came out... but sometimes it's in the top 5 or even less!!!

I find it completely baffling. You'd think that sales would have slowed down because everybody & their mother got the game... apparently not. You'd also think that the Loopy Landscapes would be topping the original RCT because so many copies of the original have been sold.... but I guess not.

I don't think we'll see a sequal until this version dies down. It really does have a staying power, just like The Sims. Sometimes I wonder why.  (keyword: sometimes)
