Rct Boring?

Is it me or is this game becoming boring? Does anyone have any ideas on making it more fun?
If all you are interested in is building allo sorts of scream machine monstrosities (you know, the unrealistic ones with 24 inverisons and 200mph speeds), then, yeah, it could get boring. But if you look at it more from the over all view of building an amusement/theme park, then I think it holds its own pretty well.

...but you have to admit that this game is definately starting to show signs of age.

This can be evident in terms of the graphics & sounds, which are so 1998 It can also be evident in the whole building of coasters and such Now with No Limits as well as other coaster games/.

There is a whole new level of freedom where you don't choose a pre-defined part like a puzzle, but build it the way you want to.

RCT will always be fun, but it's limited and can be tedious if that's the only thing you play, or play it very consistantly We can only HOPE that somebody out there will develop a decent amusement park sim game that's both very realistic, and very fun

For me, the game is just about to begin.  For the last two years, I've been playing it on an old 75Mhz computer.  It goes so slow that whenever you have 2-3 rides on the same screen, it takes a minute to scroll across the screen.  When it's raining, it's even worse.  And that's with the sound turned off.  According to the system requirements, it's not supposed to run at all.

But I just ordered a brand new 1.6Ghz computer!  So I'll be playing a lot in the coming year.

I get this way too, I have had the game for a year now, but I still love it!  It does get boring sometimes for me when playing at it for a long while, then I just stop for a day or two.  I still find the game quite enjoyable.
I play rollercoaster tycon each days some times it
get boring. I got the game 2 years ago and I have
both expansion pack. I love the game alot but I
play the sims alot to.
OK, I got my new computer and played the very first level of RCT last night (when I should have been sleeping).  It's like a whole new game!

RCT isnt boring....  you just need to find new challenges.  once you complete all the senarios, try and build coasters with X inversions or a certain track length and set a limit for excitement or such...  test your coaster design abilities. :)
Also fun is to try to build a coaster of a certain length within a certain amount of space.  See if you can use every single bit of air.  It's great to have 6-7 layers of track overtop of each other.

For me, I play it for a long time and when something goes wrong, I get bored of it and quit playing. Then after a week or so I start to play it for a long time until I get bored of it or when something bad happens to my park (Fail objective, ride crashes, or someone drowns).
I still play it well over 4 hours a day. From the time I get home to around 9 or so most of the time I'm playing RCT working on hacked rides, new parks, or just having fun challenging myself to think up of new and exciting rides to e made with the Beast Trainer. Gotta love the Beast Trainer. It's like the RCT Bible.

I think RCT is in the genre of games that can be considered a classic.  It is a game that is good not for it's graphics or sound, but for it's overall playability and challenge.  There are a few games in my personal library that are like that.  They are super ancient, but the playablility was so high that I keep dragging them out and playing them every so often.

Examples are RCT, Railroad Tycoon II, Masters of Orion II (can't wait till 3), Civ 2(and now 3 is out!), XCom, Conquest of the New World(still a DOS game<G>)

RCT is tops on that list for me because it is about one of my favorite things, coasters, and it is a very compelling game that for me never gets old.

Just MHO!

I never really like the senarios  as most of them gave you such little landscape to build in   but I love using the flat land workbenches and building my own parks the way I want with the rides I want     I've built 12 mega parks and am working on lucky #13 (haha)   I havent played a senario with the purpose of winning it in over a year and I think I only played 2 senarios of loopy landscapes when it came out  before I got a workbench  anyway

It is my biggest hope that chris sawyer will realize this and give us a "senario" that is a flat land all rides (without waiting thru research) if there is anothe add on or rct2

my parks are on the net   they are the KIMBERLY LAKE  series
