Email customer support.
I trust the people here more(Gonch,Jeff ect.).

I'm just looking for some advice.

I have uninstalled and re-installed,didn't work

I installed it on my mom's comp(win xp) and it worked fine so it's not a disk problem.

If someone could tll me what that message above means and what I might do to fix it I'd appreciate it. *** Edited 11/27/2004 5:19:37 AM UTC by john13601***

It's a problem with your video card driver. Try updating to the most recent version.

what vid card are you running? how much RAM?

You might trust us, but we didn't write the software. That's a very specific error beyond the scope of what we could diagnose.

Thanks anyway Jeff, I was just hoping someone has either seen the message and knows what to do or could at least translate it. D3D9.DLL file and DDraw. DLL:DdEntry21

ram - 128

Vid card - nvidia that came with winme 4 years ago

According to my windows update, I have the latest drivers for what I have

Windows Update usually isn't very accurate when it comes to drivers. Frontier lists ForceWare 56.72 as the latest good driver for your card--apparently they consider the most recent WinME driver for your card to be bad. I'm not sure where you can get this driver, as the only version of 56.72 left on their site is for Win XP/2000. In addition, the Beta drivers, which appear to be supported by RCT3, are only available for XP/2000 also. As previously mentioned contact customer support and ask for their opinion--for all we know, it might not be a driver problem at all.

The files in the error are components of DirectX, but the fact that they're involved doesn't really clue us into anything. I agree that having the absolute latest drivers, even if they're beta drivers, may help.

The fact that you have Windows ME doesn't help. Worst operating system release Microsoft ever made.

Thanks guys I'm off to Best Buy for a memory upgrade as well as a new vid card. If that doesn't do it then I guess it's time to buy another comp. Jeff I've heard alot of bad things about XP as well and a program i paid for says it won't work well with XP

Jeff if you dont mind may Iask you what you believe is bad about winme? It works fine for me. but I'm nowhere near the comp expert you are for me it's just a big "Gameboy" and easy acces adult stuff . I respect your advanced knowledge.

I do appreciate your time and responses *** Edited 11/27/2004 11:18:54 PM UTC by john13601***

Another tip check to make sure the right driver for your video card is installed, i had that problem (windows installed a generic version of the driver) but i needed the ati so i went and changed the certificate driver from the manufactuar's disk, and things went fine, (just a small tip, lol) :)
Well Best Buy put in a new card and upped the memory. SAME FREAKING MESSAGE. Their advice was to run a restore which I declined. I kept the upgraded memory but returned the card since even with a restore they couldn't guarantee the game would work.

IT'S TIME FOR A NEW SYSTEM

Thanks again for eveyone's help today

did they just put in the card? did they install the driver? if you didn't install a driver or they didn't it won't work witht the game.
Yes it was installed
Why would you decline an attempt at a restore point? They don't screw up your system, and take all of 5 minutes, which isn't much considering that it could get your game to work...
