I got SimTheme Park for my birthday yesterday. What do you all think of this game. I'm having trouble with getting to build my own coaster. That's the whole reason I would want the game! And how does it compare to Roller Coaster Tycoon?

Compared to Roller Coaster Tycoon (RCT) Sim Theme Park (STP) is nothing. I have STP for Playstation and its ok. The computer version looks alot better. RCT goes into more depth with the coaster construction and is as real to a park any game has gotten to date. RCT coaster building is click and add. STP to need to change the height and banking in a few steps a bit more difficult. In all I'd rather play RCT but when my girlfriend is using the computer I play STP on the Playstation. there is a new coaster came for the computer Roller Coaster Factory. I picked it up for $10 at our Local K Mart. It was in the cheap rack no boxes just in a Jewel Case. It's like a newer Disney Coaster. You can Build wood ans Steel Coasters. The track pieces are limited but its a cool game IMO. Plus after the testing phase you can ride your coaster in either front or back seats! For 10 you can't go wrong.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
Although RCT is 20 times better than STP, i think that STP has a better interface when building coasters and there is complete freedom in what you build. The thing i hate the most about STP is the way its 3-D, it gets very irrating when you can't see behind tall objects.
Thanks you all! I was finally able to build my first coaster today. It really stinks though... it has no heighth at all. It's more like riding a train that is slightly elevated.

When I bought the Sims, I got a Preview of STP and that it made it look terrible. It was moving alittle slow for a MPEG movie.
I bought it after RCT got a little boring for me and realized that I needed to thank Chris Sawyer for creating such an awesome game. STP's graphics were horrible, and you have to do a lot more than you would in RCT. RCT - 5 stars. STP - 0 stars.
While STP just doesn't live up to RCT, it certainly a better dsitraction that what everyone is saying. with a semi-decent video card (I have a voodoo3 AGP and it looked pretty sharp) the game doesn't move slow at all. coaster construction is relatively simple with about 30 minutes spent getting the hang of it. my major gripe is that it's very limited. there are few flat rides, and no matter how you design a coaster, it still has the same rating, and there appears to be no semblance of physics. the redeeming quality comes in being able to ride any ride in your park. I wish a real park would build one of those big gorilla with the swinging bannana flat rides. those are COOL!
