Rant: The End of Line Jumping

^ Double Ditto on the skills of many of today's parents, and ditto on Gonch's feelings about SFGAdv...ick!

I've had visits to SFGAdv ranging from bad to average.

But, oddly enough considering the topic at hand, it is one place where I've never personally had anyone jump line in front of me - at least to the point where I saw it happen.

That's EXACTLY my point....no one wants to be the primary role model for their kids, so Charles Barkley is left holding the bag for everyone...;)

Funny how all the people without kids get it...what's wrong with the people WITH kids?

The worst line jumping is at SFGADV without a doubt. I witnessed possibly the worst kind of jumping while i was in line for Superman. Some guy exited the "tunnel" area of the line, jumnped the rails and walked under the coaster towards the queue area near the lift hill- under the roll over. It blew my mind. Nobody cared or said anything, and the security guards that patrol the area near the queue( i dont know if they are still there or do that anymore) apparently didnt see this happen or care to do anything about it.

Kinda makes you wonder if the security is affraid to approach anyone in that park the way the people are. On my recent visit to CP, i was pleased to see some park employees sitting inside the queue areas on some rides. Thats always a good thing.

ride man- you are so correct. Park employees ARE afraid to stop certain individuals. At SFGADV a few months ago I purchased QBOT (I understand QBOT can be considered authorized line jumping but I only had one day at the park). Anyway, as I walked through the QBOT entrance I heard a group of thugs in front of me- they did not have QBOT and I was wondering how they would get by the attendant. The attendant knew DAMN WELL they did not have qbot. He looked all scared and was like "you guys wanna ride?" and let them in!!!! He stopped me though and actually looked at the QBOT to make sure it said "enjoy your ride." That pissed me off. I guess why put your life in jeopardy- its just a job, right? It is society. It is only getting worse. People keep mentioning SFGADV and PKD- they are both in urban areas...tough urban areas. What do you expect? Survival of the fittest is the rule of thumb. I've seen people get the s**t kicked out of them for trying to stop liune jumpers. Its not worth it. I guess buy QBOT and avoid the bulls**t.

Best justice I ever saw was at Cedar Point last summer, when some gangsta wannabee teenage punk who decided to line jump and was confronted by a burly redneck looking dude in the Mean Streak queue under the tracks.

For whatever dumb reason, he decided to take a swing at him, and being outweighed by 80lbs easily, and 6 inches to boot, he promptly got a mouthful of queue rail.

I wish I had my cam with me that day to record that priceless moment.

Fark line jumpers. And their mommas too.

palwine- Ive seen that so many times at SFGADV, its getting really ghetto beyond belief. Kinda sad. But what are we gonna do you know?

Being from NY,Ive defended SFGADV from the insults about the people there and all but when recently went to Cedar Point for the first time, I am done defending. CP was completetly different atmosphere. Different people and a different vibe. Im sure theres a few probs here and there but that park is bliss compared to SFGADV. Walking around SF you kinda gotta watch yourself in a way sometimes, not fun at all. I realy have no intention on going there this year, but ill know i'll end up there before seasons end.

I was line jumped in line for TTD at CP earlier in the season. They were 2 15 year old girls, my hormones got the best of me and I just smiled and winked.

Ah....If only I was 30.

PKD is in a tough urban area? I've never been there, but I've driven by, and it seemed like it was kinda in the middle of nowhere.

I can understand SFGADv or SFMM maybe having an urban crowd, but PKD??

Now it's called "child abuse" or something like that. Now they just send them to counseling, label them "ADD", and pop a few pills down their throats.

As far as line cutting I have seen it get worse and worse at a few parks, and more controlled at others. As much as I love Great Adventure, is has ALWAYS been bad about tolerating line jumpers and it's getting worse.

People just have NO respect nowadays. The sad thing is I see more and more adults doing it than the kids.

Watch it. As someone who has ADD, I can say that while some cases are overblown, many are real. Anyway, back to the topic.

PKD is in the middle of nowhere. Always has been. I have only witnessed one case of line cutting at Hypersonic.

What I never understood is why the parents who are so concerned about finding their kids or the people who want to ride with their friends and ask to cut you never think about moving backwards in line.

If you want to ride with your friends or meet your family in line, do it by moving *backwards*, not forwards.

And the lack of general respect and human decency is quite discouraging.

I'm with Den here. PKD is in Doswell, VA. The nearest 'urban' area is Richmond, which is almost 30 minutes away.

I do alot of single riding to get my fixes, and this particular problem comes up more times than I can count. When towards the front right before boarding, both adults and kids alike will ask to cut in front of me so they can ride in the same train as their friends/family. I used to be nice about it and just let them go ahead, but after so many times, not so nice anymore. Then when I tell them no, they all give me a dirty look like I'm the bad guy and some ahole for not allowing them to go ahead of me to ride with their friends.

I'm the same way, I just don't comprehend why their friends just don't let someone go ahead of them, so they can ride on the same train, instead of insisting on bumping me back for their benefit.

I think it has to do with selfishness, like I'm more important than you, so you should have to wait so I can ride with my friends, rather than they wait an extra train. Very sad indeed the lack of human decency and common respect that exist today.

CAN we please post this sign at EVERY ride entrance at EVERY park....pretty please? :)

Or better yet, how about NOT GETTING IN LINE until your entire party is together?
