If you look closely, I think the third car of the single-bench display train only has a rear axle.
Woah, does GA have its sky trek tower in the same place as SFGAm? If so that is going to make one heck of a first impression for visitors passing under the gate.

Wait a minute...

Jeff, was that you I saw in the press room the other day talking to Jeff Siebert? I could've sworn it was.

And come to think of it, didn't I see you on the floor too over by B&M or S&S?

^Do you like pancakes? I sure do.

On another note the Great America GCI looks incredible. A lot more like Thunderhead mixed with Renegade.

I don't know what to make of the PTC trains, but I was looking at some pictures and wanted to chime in on the ARM G-Force ride. They had one at the NC State Fair and it has to be one of the stupidest things I have ever seen. I looks cool and I waited ten minutes just to watch it (nobody was going on). It's kind of a U-shaped track with "X" seats that don't move. The car gets pulled backwards and then released to travel the U...wait for it...once! The ride is literally like 10 seconds long. Everyone who rode it looked angry. I cannot understand the draw at all.

That's Great America's GCI and it looks like one of the most incredible things they've ever built. If it tracks as aggressively as it looks it could definitely be one of the best coasters on the left coast, maybe THE best, IMO.

I agree. That design is absolutely unreal. So much for a Renegade clone!

That's assuming they build it and don't sell the park first. It's only a rendering.

GCI has lots of renderings at their office that never got built.

Indeed. It's cheap to render something from your imagination. After a few conversations last week, I'm not convinced they really want to keep the park. It was a dog before the acquisition.

LOL, I remember having a conversation with a Paramount person during Spring Con a couple years' back...even Paramount wasn't convinced that PGA was a viable park in the longer run. I guess to a large degree, they're outcompeted by SFDK and SCBB, and likely not going to catch up... ;)
Does CGA have any rides we want to see moved to the East coast when they close it? :)
I had a bad feeling Cedar Fair would dispose of Great America as soon as I'd heard they bought the chain. That park is all the things Cedar Fair hates to deal with. Landlocked, height restrictions, and lack of growth potential due to being surrounded by all sorts of businesses and now a football stadium. This is Astroworld all over again.

From what I understand, it wasn't something Paramount Parks wanted to deal with either.

You could tell. They ripped quite a few rides out and were slowly turning it into a water park (Geauga Lake)

I am happy they are at least investing in the park, but I refuse to get excited until I see signs of construction. ;) *** Edited 11/19/2007 9:20:54 PM UTC by DWeaver***
