Raining on My Parade

Well as I prepare to take off for my DC trip tomorrow, I check weather.com to find out that they are basically calling for thunderstorms all day tomorrow and rain all day Sunday. Looks like SFA could have some ride closures this weekend.

This has made me think: every single amusement park TRIP I've gone on (that does not include CP and SFWoA because those are close to home) has brought rain during some part of the day. I really have the worst luck when it comes to weather cooperation. Anybody else in my boat?

I get the feeling there's a conspiracy over at King's Island to remove anything that has "K" or "C" in its initials.

Hey, think about it this way. If it's not a heavy rain, wear a coat and go. The lines will be shorter! And the coaster will be faster!

A coaster enthusiast's prayer: "Dear God, please make it cloudy and rainy in the morning so the masses do not converge on the amusement parks, but be sure to stop the rain at park opening so that all rides are operating."

I live in DC. It was really bad today.. Huge winds, and a Green sky. Its supposed to be worse tomorrow, I wouldnt even be surprised if there was a tornado.

Sorry.

id rather be on a coaster.....

For me it always says it will rain but it is always sunny. When I go to parks it is always sunny.

My first trip to Disney was a washout. Entire week was a monsoon. Ended up going on a week when there was two tropical depressions and one tropical storm in the area. The last day we were there, there was about a foot of water where ever you walked outside our hotel (Carribean Beach Hotel). All day soakers everyday, none of the outdoor rides were open. Good thing about Disney, a lot of their attractions are indoors. We also wore out about four poncho's a piece while we were there.

Some of my best days at Great America though were rain days. The kind where it is on and off. Kept the crowds down and got serious multiple rides on some killer coasters.

I wouldn't be too worried about the weather right now, what with the way things have been around here weatherwise I wouldn't be surprised if it actually won't be raining tomorrow.Last weekend they were calling for rain both saturday & sunday but it didn't happen, also I tend to rely more on the local weather forecasts from the local news stations rather than weather channel which usually tends to give inaccurate forecasts some of the time.As it is I've got to be monitoring the forecast for next weekend so I'll be able to make my first run of the season to SFA.Foozycoaster do you think this afternoon's weather was bad? well brace yourself because we're about to get clobbered again within the next hour or two, severe weather round #2 is coming up.
I have the experience that every time i go to a park it calls for rain, but then it never does... or if it does it's never for more than an hour.... as for this weekend, it seems like they are calling for rain EVERYWHERE, i swear. I'll be at PKI sat and SFStl sun and they're forecasting rain both days. Hopefully it'll work out.

The thunderstorms we have been experiencing have been relatively short and shouldnt hold up a park for more than 30 minutes or an hour.

I'll be there tomorrow. Hopefully the threat of rain will keep the crowds light. If we get a down pour without lightning head to Roar. It's a great ride in the rain. I'm expecting that there will be lines of showers moving through during the day, but it wil be far from a total washout.

Actually, I'm in DC now, and we've changed our plans. We're doing the city stuff today and SFA tomorrow, since it looks like only rain (no T-storms) will be hitting us.

Looking forward to Roar during/after the rain!
