Raging Wolf Bob's New Train

I also disagree with BD running like crap. Its was my first ride this year on a coaster, and firmly believe that it has never ran better. Also though i seem to have a better appreciation for out and back woodies this year. The blue streak and the dipper are really running well this year. Plus if you get thrown around on the big dipper the trains are super padded. They have this ride well supplied for any disconfort. Great ride, one of my favorites this year.

Also to comment on Villian, i agree that it isnt the same ride as a few years ago. This ride has gotten worse with bumping around, but yes nothing can compare to the POS that SoB is. That tells you that some people are thinking that woodies are meant to be as smooth as a car ride.

Also debating woodies, sorry i havent been on screachin eagle, is that a coaster that has only a few days of operation, at a picnic type park. But for me to this point i would say Beast. *** Edited 6/25/2005 3:51:54 AM UTC by MagnunBarrel***

Resident Arrow Dynamics Whore

.. if you look real close. The train isn't black. ;)

Holiday World fans should remember the color.

The Screechin' Eagle is at the now defunct Great American Amusement Park at LeSoursdville Lake in Butler County. It's a shame too. It was a great ride. The park closed in 02 after a brief season.
I have to disagree on the Villian, I've rode it several times, and I mean several at least 30 or more...I enjoy it every time, now the back of the train I don't suggest, because it whips you around alot but mid train and up isn't too bad... I've always enjoyed all of the woodies at GL.
Sad to hear about Screechin' Eagle. But then again we get new woodies that are built like Hades to entertain us.
I'm pretty confident Screechin' Eagle will return some day. If not at Lesourdsville Lake/Americana, then at some other location.

I just wish the owner of Lesourdsville would decide what the heck he wants to do with the place. The unknown is killing me.

I ride Villain in the back Memorial weekend, and it was rockin out. I had airtime, pull-over's on a CCI were amazing, and mooshing to be had. It was my best ride ever on that coaster. I know a lot of people don't like G-Trains, but I prefer them.

Katie, who also thinks RWB would be great with a little more track work on the middle, it's be a semi-decent ride then!

^Agreed, Millrace. It kills me to see the Eagle just SITTING there. :-/

Meh, you can HAVE Villian, Katie. It's not *my* type of wood you know. After the 2nd ride that day I was done. I LOVED it 5 years ago, but since then I have never really had a good ride.

The Bobs has improved dramatically. I can't wait till the retracking is finished.

Yes it was purple when it resided in southern Indiana, but it sure looks black now.....jet black!! Did I miss a couple cratches in the paint job where the original colour shows through?? ;)

Just to clarify my above comment about the Dipper running like crap on Thursday night, it really was running poorly. The red train was anyways. In the last two weeks, I've noticed the Dippers' running quality as being somewhat diminshed and less intense. Squealing guide wheels and a horrible scraping sound coming from under the last car as it engages the chain, tells me so. But in the parks defense, I think they have been really busy during this period getting the waterpark ready. Being behind schedule, they probably haven't been able to devote much time into fine tuning the 'Dipper, because it was running fantastic a few weeks ago before I started to notice these problems.

FYI...Villain also has received more track work in the last week. The front was really smooth, and the back (where I usually ride) was a lot less pounding since my last visit. A week ago, I got off the Villain and said to myself they can't let it get any worse than this. Now it's much improved.

I wish I knew millrace's info, LOL...Eagle sitting there idle is the worst thing going on in wooden coasterdom right now. Even the *poorly maintained* woodies are RUNNING, whereas Eagle was delivering crazy airtime when it came back from SBNO-hood.

Three woodies at a CF park may be a bit too much for GL to maintain, seems unlikely to me we'll ever catch all three in top form at the same time. Villian and Dipper seem to give bigger rewards for less effort than RWB...but time will tell. ;)

Or you can just stay on Dom and X-Flight all day like I would. :-P

Why not Thunderhawk? I'd be on Thunderhawk, Dom and X-Flight, but I love all the coasters there!
Tina, I'd join you on Dominator but not X-Flight. I'd need to wear a cup for that!! Thunderhawk??...Well I refuse to wear a helmet when it's this hot!! ;)

I rode in the new train today and I like it alot better then the old one, even though the ride is still painful as usual, hopefully that gets fixed for next year, and the villain is also starting to become painful in the back of the train.

As far as I'm concerned The Villian in the back of the train has always been painful I've rode once in the back and that was the last time because of the roughness in the back. I tend to ride from a little bit behind middle to the front of the train, i try to avoid the back at all times.
