Raging Wolf Bobs Final retracking underway

As reported on www.geaugalaketoday.com Raging Wolf Bobs is recieving it's final retracking. The second turnaround of the coaster is stripped and being prepped for retracking. This will complete the entire ride's retracking process.

With that said it's obvious the park is doing more than just adding Tidal Wave Bay, they are fixing up the rides park as needed. So, is there a chance villian is being rehabbed? Right now it seems 50/50. But the fact is, the park is fixing up the things that matter. Can't wait for a new ride on the wolf bobs in May!!

I wonder if that hill is going to be lowered now that they are finally working on it. That was part of the original plans to rehab the ride.

This past year, Bobs was *infinitely* improved over my first rides from 4-5 years ago...with the last leg of the re-tracking, it should be more than acceptable accompaniment to that great O-n-B on the other side of the park... :)

CF *improving* wooden coasters....what's up with that? ;)

With the G-trains currently in use on RWB, how long do you think it will be until they need to start the refurb all over again?

Glad to see they are finishing up RWB. Last year was my first trip and that coaster was my favorite woodie by far at GL.
Wow, once they're done with that, it'll actually improve to a mediocre ride :)

Now if only they'd turn their attention to the poor Villain -- it was an AMAZING ride when it first opened, but now it's a sad shadow of its former self.

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."

I drove by Geauga Lake and was able to see the Wolf Bobs being retracked. It's about time that they retract the turnaround.

Intamin AG, slightly ahead of our modernized times.

Richie, you know better...

If they do what Cedar Fair normally does with a wood coaster, the next rehab has already started on Raging Wolf Bobs. They usually put the wood coasters on a schedule where they rebuild and retrack a portion of the ride every year, in hopes that they don't get like Raging Wolf Bobs!

I really hope they can work on Villain.

RWB is getting better, but the last year re-tracking was half the quality of the first year IMO. The first re-tracking seem's to ride alot better, less shuffle. The sections done last year have a loose feel with the train.

I hope Villain is done... :)

Martin & Vleminckx is doing the retracking on RWB, as confirmed on their website. As far as Villain goes, they don't talk about it.
I remember them saying they'd be removing the trick-track from villain... (i'm prety sure it was a GL official), but other than that i have no idea...

Removing the trick track? Them? Them who? I don't remember anything official being said about removing the trick track.

Dave, we shall see.

I'm thinking maybe it was the Q&A session at the coastermania-ext, i beleive there was audio/video of it posted somewhere online... that's all i can really think of.

I too have heard that the trick track on Villain will become a straight section in '06.
I was told by the Director of Maintenance that the jazz track on Villain is going away. They're tired of trying to fix it. Too bad since that section of track was never laid properly to begin with according to one of my sources. Would be nice to put a tunnel there and give something back to the ride since they're taking something away.

Removing the trick track?!?

That's one of the best parts of the ride!

I never thought much of it one way or another.

Villain has trick track? ;)

I could do without the trick track. The train hops too much over it and it ends up being really violent.
