Raging Bull under-rated

It seems to me that whenever I watch a coaster show on tv that they never say anything about raging bull or AC.  It makes me mad because I think that It is one of the best coasters out there. Just my opinion.
Only thing I can think of is that there are a lot more extreme coasters out there.  There's nothing too extreme about RB, unless you count its "hyper-twister" status.  It's my favorite though.

Raging Bull and AC are both one of the top ten coasters i've ever rode.  To tell you the truth I can't decide which is better, RB or AC.

Raging Bull, Don't Fight It, Ride It

Raging bull is an incredible coaster but gets overlooked sometimes because it is not as intense as Intamin hypers. I sort of wish though that the second half of the ride was more intense, especially the helixesque ending.
I rode Raging Bull this past August and Nitro and Apollo's Chariot this past June. I'd say Nitro is the best of the three, but RB was still very good. I was surprised by how similar the first half of RB is to Goliath and Titan: drop into a tunnel, followed by a banked turn, then a floater hill.

I agree, RB is overlooked.

Raging Bull IMO is the best coaster out there. I love that coaster, and yes I think it is under rated I think that Six Flags Great America itself is a under rated park, but its a awesome park.

Raging Bull is featured in Roller Coaster Thrills: The Next Generation.

Correction Alex. You should be surprised at how similar Titan (2001) and Goliath (2000) are to Raging Bull (1999).

I myself don't mind it being underrated. Overall, the whole park is underrated. I myself find it to be a great park with a wide variety of coasters, and cool flat rides. If TV channels like Discovery, TLC, and Travel would start having shows on it instead of CP or SFMM, then attendance would probably go up a little bit, making for even more lines. So, be it the park, or a specific coaster, usually it's a good thing that it's underrated.

I want my Hay Bayler back! Forget new rides! HAY BAYLER! While they are at it, why not bring back Tidal Wave too?

Raging Bull would be in my top 5 list, but the trims completely ruin the ride. Because of the trims, it is not over-rated.
Raging Bull is under-rated. The ride is incredible. I hate people bashing on the ride because of the trims, which do nothing at all, but if someone says they do, then it maybe slows the train for less then a second, and that's it! I agree with TrBiggar that if the park were to be on TV channels, then the lines would get even long, and I wouldn't want that to happen.

In my opinion, it's my favorite :)

Current Favorite Coasters:
1)Raging Bull 2)Millennium Force 3)Medusa (SFMW) 4)Vertical Velocity (SFGAm) 5)Dueling Dragons (Ice)

Honestly, ratings don't mean much. Raging Bull is one of those incredibly well engineered rides that doesn't need to be on national TV to be appreciated by people who understand the finer things about rides, as well as the regular folk who just enjoy it. Screw ratings. Ride what you like. :)

So many coasters - so little time.

Where are there trims? The only real trims is the end of the break, and of course that adds to the ride quite a bit..

There's a set on the hill after the first turn (I don't think they where ther the first year, but I could be wrong), the mid-course usually grab quite hard, and it seems like there's some on the low turns.
I don't think they kill the ride, though. They just give a bit more of a "controlled" feeling.
I've only ridden it about 30 times, but I would like to try it brakeless once...

A coaster not being on TV makes it underrated? I for one could care less what's on TV. Those shows are made for the GP who don't know Raging Bull from Millennium Force. I've heard nothing but praise about RB and pretty tired of hearing xxx coaster is under/overrated.

Raging Bull is wonderful, especially in the back seat. Even with the trims on I still get plenty of air time coming off of the third hill. And whoever says it's not intense has to ride it at night. They turn off the trims in the figure eight at the end, causing the train to just rip right through there.

And I agree about Six Flags Great America as a whole. Very under-rated park.

X Factor -- about the trims at the end of the ride being turned off at the end of the night, that's not true. Those trims are speed sensetive, and will hit whenever the train is travelling faster than the speed the trim is set for. This goes for all B&M trims/block brakes. They will only slow it down if it's going "too fast."

Nitro, Legend, and IOA. Is there anything better?

The Bull is one of my favorite coasters. I love the open cars that give you such a wonderful feeling of flying. No other coaster car out there compares to the B&M Hyper car. Just raise the arms and straighten the legs out in front of you and you are flying. I have not ridden the other two B&M Hypers, but I think because of it's twister layout that Bull would be better than the other two. I love the elevated banked turns and the loads of airtime on this monster. If they get rid of that trim on the first camelback I would be much happier though.

Chaindog:  The trims on the second hill have always been there and they barely do anything,  the midcourse brakes don't grab hard at all and the turns trims rarely slow the train down at all.

Also people keep saying they added trims this year, if so where are they? Ive rode the coaster plenty of time this year and haven't seen one brake that wasn't on there in 1999.

I think Raging Bull is a great coaster and very under-rated compared to other coasters when ratings come out! I also think the back of the coaster is a great ride with excellant air time if the lap bar is on somewhat loose!
I agree. The Bull needs a bit of respect from the Media. I am sick of SFGAM getting any credit for the coasters they have. IMO I think SFGAM has the best combination of coasters around. Wood, Inverted, Hyper, Launch, Family, Looping, Standup. It's a fairly complete list. Glad it's my home park.
