Elvis Duran and the Morning Show, a nationally syndicated radio program based in New York City, is starting a summer roller coaster promotion, sending listeners to the best amusement parks in the country.
Next Monday, Greg T, the show's "street guy," will be marathoning one of the first park's more popular coasters for charity. The on-air stuff will take place throughout Monday's show (6-10AM) and the promotion will run throughout the summer.
Figure I'd give a heads up in case you'd care to listen, as is normally done on the forums with Discovery Channel shows, Travel Channel shows, etc.
He is not carried by any of my local stations.
Here is a link to his site where you can look to see if his show is in your area. http://elvisduran.com/pages/splash.html?pass=/main.html
You can stream it online at most of the major market websites (Z100 in New York, Q102 in Philly, Y100 in Miami or KISS FM in Cleveland).
Also, what "coaster" parks would you say are a MUST for this promotion? Keep in mind the show is trying to satisfy the taste of the GP, not enthusiasts.
I would think they would hit parks in the area of their syncicators. This would include most of the eastern PA and SFGAd, KD etc...
The giveaways will include park admission, spending cash, airfare and hotel accommodations. So, any park in the country is fair game.
Then sign me up for Disneyland! I already have my SF & CF passes so I could make a great trip out of it.
With your above statement, My favorites are CP, WDW, BGW, KI and CWonderland. We have not been to SFGAd or Hershey yet, but I am sure they would be up there as well.
Just following up with this...
Elvis Duran's Roller Coaster Tour kicked off this morning at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. The show's co-host did a marathon session of Millennium Force, earning a $1,000 donation from Elvis for Toys For Tots.

What's with the hockey mask? Were they doing a live broadcast and trying to keep the wind out of the mic?
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
