quick TR for Six Flags Am...I mean Carowinds

Associated parks:
None

If the title doesn't tell you something, then you're out of touch :)

It's been a few years since I've been here--last time was still under Paramount control and BORG was "new". Anyway, it seemed to be running fairly well back then. However, today they seemed to be pulling an SFA. There were at least 3 coasters closed the entire time I was there, which was about 5.5 hours on Father's Day. Votex went down at some point, as well as Nighthawk. Some of the employees seemed lathargic/lackluster, though on the whole, probably at least a little friendlier than SFA. Some lines moved slow. Prices were ridiculously high for food and drinks, but this is chain-wide.

We had fun, and it was the first time my dad had been there. Also, Afterburn was running pretty intense there about halfway through the day--good stuff. But they did disappoint me today. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come--this is a Sunday in June! Anyone have any idea when Thunder Road is gonna be back up? Why wasn't more of the construction done in the off-season?

coastin' since 1985

For such a bad time, you said this statement: "We had fun". It's puzzling to me????

Right after that, he said, "But they did disappoint me today", which probably means that he can have fun even if things aren't right.

Nice TR. I went to Carowinds for the first time ever last summer and had a pretty good time. We all seem worried that CF is heading downhill like SF did when they bought up so many parks. I hope that is not the case.
