Question for Phyter...

I go a question for Phyter. I want to know why NL is going EXTREMELY slow for me. Here are the requirments for NL and my Computer stats...

NL requirments-
-Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP
-Pentium PII 300
-OpenGL compatible video card (3D acceleration and 16 MB Video-RAM recommended)
-32mb ram or better.
-15 megs free HD space.

My Computer-
-Intel Pentium 3 processor.
-96mb, expands to 256.
-13gb hardrive.
-4x CD-RW Drive (24x max, 10x min CD Rom)

Is your computer a stock factory system? If so what's the make/model? What is the make/model of your video card?

Update your driver also. For ATI cards go to www.ati.com

I have a IBM Aptiva, and I run Windows 98.
Phew.. sorry for the long wait Hulk90. July 4th weekend stole me away from all of this. Had a lot of fun though. :)

I looked up the Aptiva line specs and although I don't know exactly which system you have I can tell you that they all come with a bare-bones type on-board video. It features the minimum specs to run the software and that's probably why you're only seeing a few FPS.

My only suggestion is that you upgrade to a better video card. I recommend the nVidia GeForce 4 Ti series. I have the Ti 4200 that I have been very happy with.

I would also *highly* recommend you upgrade your RAM. 96MB is cutting it short to say the least.

Another Question: I will be getting a new computer for myself in a few weeks. How do I transfer all the files of the game w/o having to buy it again on my new computer?

------------------
Who: Man
What: Can now fly
When: 2003
Where: SFGAm
Why: For A Fast-Paced, Heart Pupming Energy Rush
How: On S:UF !!!!

Its called a CD-R or CD-RW!!!!! you need the installer. If you have your information you can download The INSTALLER only from KaZaA or KaZaA lite. I used it only because i lost my installer.

Phyther, no offense, but I would go with ATI radeon 9700 pro or the new Radeon 9800. I want a laptop so while away from my computer i can ride them!!

Ryan

the GF4 ti series is not having as bad problems running no limits though

I just got a ti 4200 last month and it works really well. I think right now you can get it for about 100$. If you just want the 64 mb version it is probably even less

Thanks for the advice.
To ATI's favor their hardware is slightly faster and in some ways more advanced than nVidia's but their drivers have always lagged behind in quality. Fortunately the most recent driver update fixed many of the bugs causing problems in OpenGL games such as NoLimits.
