Question for Ohio Beast fans...

Way back in 1986, my dad, in a short-lived fit of coolness, took me out to Kings Island (as it was then known) so that I could ride the Beast. It had one of the coolest signs I have ever seen, like a Gold Rush era sign recruiting brave souls to seek out a "beast" that had been terrorizing a mining area or some such.

I have three questions:

Is that sign still there?

Is there a similar sign for SOB?

Does anyone have photos of the sign(s)? My dad took a photo of me in front of it, but I would like to get a photo of the Beast's sign, at least, preferably without a 14-year-old me.

Thanx

I want to live where it's all the same. I want to live where it's all just like today. I want to live where it's always Saturday.
You're welkum.

What is SOB anyway?

One of the girls had a cute little kitten named kitty-kitty, the other girl had a cute little puppy named Chris, and the third girl was a republican.

The beast sign Has not changed much in its time. A new sign has been put up but the logo is the same.

Son of beast has a totally different logo

SOB is Son of Beast.

Hi.....whats your name again?

PKIEMPSOB, thanks, but I'm not looking for a sign over a queue. I'm looking for a sign that was near the queue, with two or four paragraphs of text on it, playing up (hyping, if you prefer) the mystery of the ride.

I want to live where it's all the same. I want to live where it's all just like today. I want to live where it's always Saturday.
prabe that sign has not been in the park for a long time. I think they took it out some time around 1989.
Drat. Now if I want to show anyone that sign, I have to show them a picture of me at 14. sigh.

Did they remove the "old" sign about the same time the "pawprints" on the concrete leading to the coaster disappeared?

PKIEMPSOB,

Pbase is awesome isn't it? :-) Cool pics!

Well a friend of mine ownes the 20th anneversary Sign that was outside the Q.

Pat, Beast used to have many chalkboard signs in the Q. The only one remaining that I know of is in the station on the operators booth, GRAVEST IMPORTANCE, YOU MAY LOOSE Your glasses to THE BEAST.

Old ones I can remember were: Three Cheers for THE BEAST and there were a couple others.

Oh, ANd a funny thing is, In 2000 they put up DANGER on the Beast sign, It was quickly removed within a couple weeks and changed to BEWARE!

Speaking of Beast, is there any other themeing that the ride has lost over the years other than signs and the water under the station? I've always wondered if there was more to the mine car and "cave" near the lift.

What's the water under the station deal?

There used to be water under the station. There is a "tower" near the station where water used to run down into the pond beneath. I think there was even a water wheel as well, but I'm not quite sure.

lol, that SoB pic has a girl on a bench holding her head! at least it's a rrealistic pic!

I don't think so. As I recall, the pawprints were still there when I went back in 99.

Actually no the GUY was scratching his head

Hi.....whats your name again?

You can still see the water wheel with many coins near the station. Follow the coins and you will see how the water wheel and where the pond under the station was.
