Question for East Coaster Freaks?????

What the hell do you guys do in the winter time when all the amusement parks are closed on the east coast???? Out here in So-Cal SFMM, KBF, DL, USH stay open all year long. I couldn't go more than 6 months without riding a coaster. Man, you guys must be tough.

Uhh, snowmobiling, skiing, snow tubing, sledding, any indoor amusement you can find, make trips to Florida or California to ease the coaster addiction, shovel snow (ooh, fun!!), make snow angels, snowball fights, log onto this site and drool about the next season, wish there was more indoor amusement parks with coasters, drive by your hometown park and wish it was open. If I think of anything else I will post it. (heh!heh!)

I play hockey. Then I get depressed. Then I fly to Florida or California to ride coasters. Then I play hockey again. Then I get depressed again.

Oh. And I drink. Sweet alcohol - eases the pain.

And it's not just the east coast, but the midwest as well. I think that our coasters and parks are far more special to us because we don't have access for them year round. That might explain the "religion" associated with many of our parks.

Can you take me higher? (CREED)
I play RCT alot. Although if we drive to PKD or BGW a 5 hour drive our season lasts from the first of April to first of November. Where we are the parks open the end of April until mid October. We can always come out and visit you Superbatboy. ;) Hersheypark actually stays open fairly long with their Halloween and Christmas events. The coasters don't run for the Christmas stuff though. :(

I agree Jeff, limitation breeds desire. Even though our parks here are open year round(for the most part), I don't visit them year round. I usually do most of my visiting around spring time, before the parks get overly crowded and just plain filthy. There are some advantages though, like getting Ghostrider in December and Goliath in february. Not to mention the fact that Perilous Plunge would end up being a 2001 attraction otherwise.

Unforgettable!!!
see the thread on Model Coasters for a good wintertime activity!
Im about a 2 hour drive from Orlando.I just hop in my car for a mini road trip.
I spend my time playing RCT, working on previews on my site (www.starcoasters.com) for the next year's rides, and counting the days until parks begin to open up again. This year you could find me on Carowinds' Top Gun's first train out for the year and you will find me on it next opening day as well :-)
