question about the Great Nor Easter SLC?

Good evening,

for the last three summers i have been going to wildwood and going on the noreaster everyonce in a a while and i have some pictures of it, and i noticed this year it looks like they added a platform at the crest of the lift hill, that is below the emergency stairs and below. i know that had a catwalk up to the motor at the top of the lift hill, but waht do they use this for. emergency evacs on teh lift hill so they push the train just over hte platform and lower people onto the lift hill, I wish i had a picture of the platform to show you , but i don't sorry. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this and if htey have any idea what this platform is for could you please tell me?

thanks for your help

I don't know what its for, but I would guess its for easy access to the lift motor, which I believe is mounted up there. When I rode it a few weeks ago, there was actually a "scissor-lift" up there, which was quite fascinating because I have no idea how you would get one of those up there in the first place without a crane.
