Question about PKI's Closing Weekend Date

Before I get flamed, let me just say I checked the online scheadule.

My question is, do you think or do you know if PKI will add on an extra weekend at the end of the season like it has the three past years? Halloween (10-31) is the last Sunday of October and a majority of the big Ohio parks close that night. I just wonder if PKI will add a bonus weekend since it would be the first weekend in November... Nov 6 & 7. Im just curious since I have some vacation time to plan in November, and I wouild like to spend closing day here.

Any thoughts?

PKI has made a habit of adding that final weekend, but it seems that they like to wait till post-season to make that announcement. (Or they make it right before Labor Day)

So, who knows what they have planned this year.

Please note that the last few years it has been insanely busy that final weekend because the park is extra generous with the FREE or discount tickets. Last season they made all the incentive guest tickets for early season pass purchase good only on the November add-on weekend, as well as radio contests and other promotions which blanket the city with free or discount tickets.

Add to that the last couple years where the weather on the add-on weekend has been gorgious and the reduced ride capacity as they had trains off a lot of the coasters already. Made for an extremly crowded weekend.

Well, PKI did add these last two weeks of August to full time operation. I wonder if that's the only extra time we'll get this year.

Usually it's also a wait and see, to see if they will have enough people to run that extra weekend. They usually don't know until everyone is back in school.

But yes, that extra weekend is ALWAYS EXTREMELY BUSY!!! You'll see people practically parking on the highway and walking up to the park. It's beyond insane...even that's an understatment. But they do offer AWESOME discounts on some nice theme park stuff. Usually things go down to 25%-75% off. Beware though also. They run out of food VERY quickly on closing weekend. Last year I tried a few places and they were out of meat by 3pm.

On another note. They might NOT add it this year, do to the fact of TIJ:ST's location...right in the middle of the park. They might want to get a good start on it while it still can be warm in that part of Ohio. Though it's tough to say if they will think/do that or not.

Oh don't I know it. Last year at closing weekend it was PACKED! It was the most crowded I had ever seen the park.

The Halloween stuff was awesome though. Can't wait to see it again. :-)

That was the shock of my life, going to PKI in November 2002 and seeing the line for Adventure Express spilling out onto the midway. I rode three rides from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
