Question about Lighthouse Point

I am looking into my 2003 Graduation gift/vacation. I was looking at Lighthouse Point. Basically its going to be a relaxing trip/ ride every ride in the park in 3 days.

If you have stayed in the cottages, what did you think about it? Clean, no bugs(indoors), Overall Somthing I want to spend money on?

I wanna spend most of my time in the park. My mom is comming with and she doesn't ride anything, so I want her to have fun too.

Be nice to ride op's. No matter how slow unfriendly and uncaring they may seem Most work hard to make your day great.

I've never stayed @ Lighthouse Point, but I think it is pretty good. But if your mom likes beaches you could stay @ the Breakers (a bit pricy, but a VERY nice hotel). Then, again, any resort will get you into the beach, but I'm just saying that the Breakers is really good (I've also stayed @ the Radisson, and yes, that's good too, but the Breakers is on location ;))

The LHP cottages were great for us. The atmosphere is cool, the location conveient and it's nice to not have neighbors on the other side of the wall. They aren't cheap, but I think well worth it if you have a medium to large posse that needs a place to crash.

I stayed in a cabin at Lighthouse Point during the 2001 season. The cabins and cottages are pre-fab, like small high quality mobile homes. It was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was kinda small, but I think it had a tub.

The one hitch was that there was really no place to cook. The cabin had a small fridge, small microwave, and wet bar sized sink. There was a grill and a nice picnic table outside. This would have been good, but the wind off the lake made cooking on a grill a challenge. We were a group of 8 (6 kids, my wife and I) and had we known about the cooking, we would have planned a little different.

The cottages are right on the lake, and have a great view. LP has it's own pool and hot tub. It is a vey nice place, and worth the extra just to be that close.

Our cabin was just across the road from Mean Streak. Say what you want about the ride experience, but seeing MS out the front window at 3am, all lit up, a simple memory that still brings a smile to my face.
