Question About DP's Inverted Coaster.

I was just wondering if anybody knows why this coaster is so expensive? ($15 mil) I mean it only has four inversions and the space that it has to fit into is not very large. I know prices go up as years go on, but there are a lot of coasters out there that are alot bigger and don't cost as much. It's just an interesting topic to me. Is there some kind of surprise that they aren't telling us? Are there actually going to be more inversions? Just some questions to think about, and if you have any answers please tell! But despite all of that, I am very pleased about them getting this coaster and I can't wait til' next year!

Thank you for riding Steel Force and enjoy the rest of your day here at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom
Wasn't the Great Bear 11 or 12 million in 98? I also think B&M's are in great demand now a 5 year waiting list (or is that for a CCI). I think Dorney might be holding out the # of inversions. I think it would be kinda silly to build somthing equalling the Bear for inversions. I think Dorney should build one with at least 6 inversions. At least Pennsylvania is finally getting another invert.
Hey Dorney Junkie check out my pic in info it's from on Steel Force!

I think that part of it is just inflation. Remember that even Magnum was only $8 million, but that was in '89. I think $15 million is a fair price these days for a B&M of that size.

I've heard this past weekend from management the inverted will cross over into thunder canyon and up around there to get some 'theming' into the ride, intstead of it being just over grass. The coaster will be a fairly large invert, not as in height, but as in length of duration. There is always the possiblity of the coaster also having more inversions then 4. (i've got my fingers crossed)

That is what I figured was going to happen. If you think about track being placed in the middle of Thunder Canyon, well then the price would have to go up. First, it gives more land for track, and second, once you start working around obsticles, it makes the job harder, therefore more expensive. One of the reasons that Great Bear costed as much as it did was due to its location in the park. I am glad to hear this news, and the bit about the inversions, well we can only hope. In the end, I wouldn't care if crap rained down from the top of the ride, it is another coaster at my home park!

Does anyone know how much Alpenguist cost? That invert is immense, and i'm trying to construe a comparison on inverted coasters.
I think Alpengiest was about $20 million. I found out on the Rollercoaster Database @ rcdb.com.

Remember that has to deal with extreme theming though.

This cost of Talon could have also been because it the track was filled with sand to make it quieter for the surrounding residential community. I don't know how much this would have added to the cost but I'm sure it added a nice chunk.

2 years sitting idle is a long time for a thread....but it DOES add more to the inflationary cost of building....:)...

LMAO. But the reason I resurrected a few old threads is because I was looking through some old topics and just decided to post something on them. There's nothing wrong with it and at least I didn't start a new topic without searching first.

Why bring back a topic from 2000? It just confuses everyone, and makes some look like idiots.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

Because I wanted to. I was bored and I wanted to.

Didn't they rebuild the games area at the same time? That may have been where some of the money went.

And was that arcade and the other faux 50s buildings alongside it already there or not?

The real question should be why does it aggrevate you that much that a topic was brought back from 2 years ago.

It is kinda interesting to see some of the topics from so long ago.

Yeah, because if I would have started a new topic related to this you would have got mad and told me to use the search feature. Then when I made a new post we would have been right back here. I'm just posting on a thread, why is everyone getting so angry about it.
