Question about B&M "big boy" seats

The B&M big boy seats are the exact same as the rest of the train except the seatbelt. The seatbelt is used only as a measuring device, and combined with A) the added girth of the rider, and B) the two seatbelts with the extended length, a big boy seat rider is completely safe riding with the minimum click on the restraint, even if the locking device failed. The only problem is if one of the little folk tried to ride with the minimum restraint (seatbelt extented, but locked securely), there could potentially be a safety concern... Which is why B&M doesn't put big boy seatbelts on every seat.

Slurk has it pretty well covered.

I'm sorry, I don't even begin to buy the thought that the Big Boy seats being in the middle has to do with weight distribution. Somehow I don't see how a multiple ton car with several tons on riders would be affected by one or two 350 pound guys sitting towards the front.

I believe it's for the same reson some fast lane systems put riders in the middle rows... fewer people want to ride in those rows, so forcing 'special' riders to take them reduces waits towards the front and back.

Alpie was my first inverted coaster ever, and the first time I rode it I was forced to sit in the Big Boy seats after waiting in line for the front. Boy was I pissed.
I used that memory two years later to help motivate me to lose 100 pounds, and finally got to ride the front row that year. Wheeeee!

Touchè, teacher, touchè.

I dont think cp has any of these, but i know BGW,BGT AND IOA do !
Does RB at SFGAM have any Big Boy seats? They have that rule where the operator has to be able to see the entire red line at the bottom of the pivot point on the restraint.

Raging Bull does not have the over the shoulder restraints, just the so-called "clamshell" lapbars. I think that they offer quite a bit more room than the other B&M's with OSTR's, but I have not actually ever ridden a B&M Hyper (glaring hole in my track record BTW) to be able to tell you for sure.

I've heard that Nitro at SFGadv has wider seats for larger guests.

Maybe, then then explain why they shuffled two full rows of people on TG:TJC to move heavier guest towards the back of the train? :-/

CCI Coasters!! The best rollercoasters WORLDWIDE!! **only applies in the state of Indiana**

I was actually just at Great Adventure in April. I'm somewhat of the larger size and the first 2 times I rode Nitro, I had to have this huge ride operator smash me in. The lap bar was locked but they have to have it down to a certain mark for I guess safety reasons. On the second day, that same ride operator was gone and when I tried to get in again, I had this little 90 pound girl trying to shove me in. Wouldn't lock farther down so they wouldn't let me ride. I was also having to be just pushed a little bit to get into a B & M with OTSR back in April. Since then I have lost 30 lbs and counting and am now able to lock myself into a B & M coaster though I have not ridden a Hyper by them since. They never did mention any Big boy seats on Nitro that I could ride in. What a great feeling though. Locking myself in. Its been a few years.

From what I can tell, none of the stateside B&M hypers have any special seats.
