Q: Why does Six Flags love Vekoma Boomerangs?

PCW's "Bat" did get a surprisingly long line in a park FILLED with other (better) coasters, and *incredible* flats...glad I got on ASAP when it opened later in the day and I "happened to be in the area"...of course, the SLC with its "Top Gun" theme did really well too, so maybe Canadians just dig Vekomas? ;)

Personally, I blame the excellent NAME/THEMING for The Bat's popularity...:)

Is this where I put in another shamless plug for the TR?

Moosh, you did mean 3 of 7 right? Now put those other two parks back where you found them.
I find the boomerangs seem out of style, I do love one once in a while, but you don't see many that are differant frome each other, most of them are like Head Spin at Geauga Lake , and those arn't very exciting after you ride them oh so many times. I know that Six Flags built Geauga Lakes (when they owned it but were still under Geauga Lake, a year befor official name change).
I think that Vekoma should have come out with the Invertigo first. Then there wouldn't be all those pieces of sh*t in operation. :)

I ride them, and they aren't the worse coasters you can ride(RC-48 has that covered.)Everyone already covered the reasons they are so popular. Vekoma, Those motorbikes are looking mighty nice.

Boomerangs don't bother me neither do Invertigoes. I like both rides. But SLC's are a whole different animal. Yes, the RC-48 is the human torture device!

Watch the tram car please....

They aren't that bad. They're cheap and they're reliable...

Cheap maybe, reliable - not so much. At least not the piece of crap that we have at SFOG. The ride experiences problems constantly. I'm surprised it has been up as much as it has so far this season.

That said, I like the ride, and I'm glad we have one in the park.

brandon101, SFoG's is the third-gen Boomerang, the GIB, aka Deja Vu. They are all nightmares.

Regular Boomerangs, the first-gens, ARE in fact quite reliable, as are the second-gens, the Invertigos (Face-Off, Two-Face)...Invertigo was the generic name given to those by Vekoma. The only version that is *unreliable* are the DVs, generic name of GIB - Giant Inverted BowelMovement. ;)

I don't see how Six Flags is the Boomer Capitol. I've only been on 2 Boomers, both at CF parks. Been to 4 SF parks, none of which have a boomer (at least at this point).

But here is a question to really bake your noodle:
Are Cyclone Clones the original boomers? Even SFI has jumped on that band wagon...

Shaggy: They racked up a lot of their Boomerang buying before they bought SF. Rangs and SLCs, for that matter.

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

I think it's safer to say that the "original 'Rangs" were the Anton Wildcats (and/or JetStars, JumboJets, etc.)... ;)

Sometimes the future doesn't necessarily mean "progress", LOL...

To answer Shaggy's question. SF purchased 'rangs for SFOT, Fiesta and SF Belgium. But the 'rangs at Darien Lake, Geauga Lake, Elitch's and Marine World were purchased by Premier, which of course became Six Flags.
