PTC IAAPA train really is for the legend

www.thrillrideexperience.com confirmed with PTC today that the wooden coaster train on display is the actual train design that will go on the Legend.  Nice look train it is too!

We have tons of news and photo updates slated throughout the night at INTERCOT'S Thrillride Experience.  Between Coasterbuzz and our site you won't miss I thing I'm sure.

LOL well thats great to know that they 'confirmed' it seeing as Holiday World PR director Paula Werne confirmed to Coasterbuzz that the train is NOT for Legend:

Your friend is correct. That is NOT the new train for The Legend. It is strictly a display model.
Somebody apparently doesn't know what they are talking about then.  Two PTC representatives corrected me when I told a partner standing next to me that the train was just a halloween theme.  They said absolutely not, that the train was indeed designed for the Legend.

Take it for what it's worth.

Perhaps they meant the train model was the design being used for Legend, but not the actual paint job.

Obviously we need to get Tom Rebbie to move over here to cb...I'm pretty sure he'd know!

Maybe we should take the word of someone who works at Holiday World on this subject. Check out this thread: http://club.coasterbuzz.com/forums/thread.asp?ForumID=11&TopicID=15682
Maybe in the future, you should try the search function so we do not have twp topics about the same subject.

If the PR person from the park says it's not for the park, it's not for the park. In fact, it was my understanding that PTC hadn't even signed the contract for the trains until this week, and the actual color scheme of the trains includes purple.

What I find incredibly disturbing is that everyone with a URL now goes to the show and is suddenly an expert, propagating the same kind of crap rumors.

And people wonder why I don't allow rumors to be presented as fact here?

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, that's correct. I just talked to Will Koch (our president and general manager) and the specific color scheme for the trains is still pending. I'll post something when the decision is made. But as I posted before, the train at IAAPA was for display purposes only.

Happy Thanksgiving!  Paula
