Nothing concrete yet, just a new Request for Proposals. One such request invokes the Jazzland name.
I was SURE that this was going to be a troll-jacked thread from 3 years ago, but I'll be damned...
It'd be great if something could come back for the city, but for now I'll just keep my expectations low.
Hoping for a SMALL rides park with a larger waterpark...keeping it small keeps maintenance and infrstructure costs low, making the park more likely to withstand a downturn, tourism drop-off, or whatever may come along...
The larger waterpark would bring in revenues with a low initial outlay for construction, etc., and low maintenance costs.Last edited by rollergator, Thursday, January 30, 2014 9:20 AM
Google some of the names of the management team of the company behind this proposal and you'll find that it's the remnants of Southern Star, the company behind previous proposals for the site. They had lots of big ideas, a message board on their website moderated by teen fanboys, and absolutely no money.
Yeah, I wouldn't get particularly optimistic about this either.
