Progression of the Woodie

Now that SOB has finaly been stabilized(we hope) will we see more looping woodies? Will we eventually have corkscrews and boomarangs? Or will the looping woodie be one huge blowout?

Personally I belive that a woodie should be reserved for airtime filled hills, sharped banked turns and great terrain use.

Please post here-
Sounds sorta cooky to me. To have corkscrews (or any of numerous elements that involve a corkscrew) one would need OTSRs, and I just don't think those would work on a woodie. then again, what do I know? I'd like to see inversions on woodies developed in the form of multiple vertical loops. the loop on SOB is just plain cool. if it weren't for those painful helixes, I'd love the ride.

WE'RE ALL GONNA DDDDDIIIIEEEE!!
Why would you need OTSR's? Every corkscrew (that I know of) has them, but they don't need them, because both vertical loops and corkscrews push you into the seat.
The loops push you into the seat assuming the coaster is moving. There have been some cases where a train has stopped within a loop, in which case the OTSH would be very much appreciated.
I'm still waiting for a hyper, dueling, racing side friction coaster with loops! I'm not asking for much am I? ;)

CPgenius, not all corkscrews have enough G-forces to push you into your seat. On the Vortex and Paramounts Kings Island if you are not holding on you actually come out of your seat. It's really cool, but you are definately not being pushed into your seat. I'm not saying that only lap restraints wouldn't work, only that all corkscrews don't hold you against your seat.

P.S. Try no hands through the corkscrews on Vortex at PKI, it's really cool.
if they have anykind of resemblance to sob, keep them out. maybe if they have this thing called ahem.....AIRTIME and actually be worthy to be called a wooden coaster, maybe i would give loops a shot on woods
