One of the oldest amusement parks in the nation and Colorado’s oldest amusement park still in its original location, Lakeside is definitely “vintage.” But that’s a huge part of its charm. Initially called “White City,” Lakeside was one of dozens of identically named, resort-like amusement parks that sprang up in the wake of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Great park, haven't been in years. Can't wait to get back out there! The long winding tunnel before the lift on Cyclone is super creepy but manages to be so much fun. And of course, the very rare "slide under" stationary lap bar. The ride doesn't have a huge amount of air time, but those first few fan curves have great, old-fashioned "lateral time." The whole thing is a great step back in time. Plenty of online pics, but this set is particularly nice: http://www.kendenton.org/COASTERS/Photos/lakeside/index.html
This place looks absolutely lovely. I would love to see it for myself someday.
