I discovered Google News some time ago, and then realized how much time I could waste on it when I didn't want to do work. Needless to say, it was a nice distraction. Anyways I think it's pretty cool to be able to go back and read a lot of the news stories about parks. I did learn some mostly useless trivia though. Ron Toomer didn't even ride his the coasters he built. The Steel Phantom was closed for a couple days right after it opened because it was too fast through the inversions. And this article, from May 1900, dates back to the park's time as a trolley park. It seemed to me that some of you might appreciate this kind of stuff, so I figured I'd share.
Ha ha. Pretty neat. And wow, a Raging Rapids boat capsized the same week!
Its google images for me. Its always a fun game to see what image you get when you search a totally innocuous word. Safe Search = OFF = potential epic fail.
