Problem with downloaded objects apearing

I downloaded some of the scenery objects. Unzipped the files and moved the DAT files into the ObjData folder for the game. The files are there but they don't appear in the game. Do you need to unlock them or do the just appear?

I'm running XP and a P4 processor if that has anything to do with anything which I doubt.

Any help would be great!

They don't 'just show up' in the game, you would have to go into the scenario editor and create a scenario with the new objects. Just make sure in the rides/shops/scenery selection window you click advance and look under the small scenery tab.
