Private equity firm EQT (EQT.N) has initiated a strategic review of the U.S. operations of Spanish amusement park operator Parques Reunidos that could lead to a sale of the business, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

The problem is that Kennywood is the flagship Palace park. If they sold off Kennywood separately, would anyone want a bunch of B- and C-tier parks?
When it was sold, Kennywood Entertainment Corp consisted of besides Kennywood, Idlewild, and Lake Compounce. The rest of the parks that are now part of Palace were obtained afterwards.

Gene Staples has entered the chat.
Seriously, Gene has enough on his hands figuring out the parks he owns. But assuming these are modestly profitable parks, why wouldn't someone want to try their hand at running them. (As long as they don't do the PE thing of buying the parks, loading them with debt, and spinning them off.)

And Sandcastle, and Storyland.
Hi
We visited Lake Compounce and Story Land over the summer. I was not particularly impressed with either park. If Holiday World is a small park that operates like a big park, Lake Compounce was a small park that tried to price itself like a big park and operated like a small park.
Here’s hoping someone competent wants to buy them out, but I don’t even know who that would be these days. Herschend wouldn’t do it, Cedar Fair has their hands full (if they’re even considered competent), and that’s about it.
A few of these parks are in great locations and could do so much better if they had any sort of operations overhaul.
