Whenever I make a roller coaster with an excitement rating of, say, 6.50, and charge something like 4 or 5 dollars for it, the excitement, nausea, and intensity ratings plumet to numbers like .30. What is the problem? What should a roller coaster cost?

One of the girls had a cute little kitten named kitty-kitty, the other girl had a cute little puppy named Chris, and the third girl was a republican.

It's a problem with the game, not you.

I'm not sure if the updates fixed that problem or not. Have you downloaded them?

I think the patches might have fixed that. Do you have them installed?
Exactly...the crazy stats problem was fixed with one of the two updates though I forget which one now.

You should make sure you install both updates. It will make the game MUCH better. (Though not as good as Soaked) :) *** Edited 5/25/2005 3:25:03 AM UTC by Coasterbuf***

But still not good. ;)

Somone always have to complain *cough, GONCH, cough* ;)
Less of a complaint, more of stating the obvious ;).

Actually taking the cheap shot anywhere I can. :)

But you might just rile people up that think Atari can do no wrong, Gonch!

;)

I don't think there is anyone that thinks that way Tekno. Certainly not me. However, RCT3 (with the patches) is not the bleak picture that some would have people believe either.

And with Soaked...well...I'm sure some people here will NEVER be happy with anything. (Those in the Atari can do no right camp) But for the rest of us, soaked should be an enjoyable experience. I know I have enjoyed betatesting it. :)

On the same note as your reply, I don't think anyone here thinks that way. Certainly not me.

Just out of curiousity, Coasterbuf - is there somewhere we can download things you've done with RCT3?

And no, it's not a challenge or setup or whatever, I'm genuinely interested in seeing what someone who enjoys their time with the game does with it.

Atari did wrong with RCT3, but they definitely got Neverwinter Nights right. So if I am pointing a finger it's not at Atari (who i think is just distribution for these games) but at Frontier. I will we wary of Frontiers stuff for a while after this.

Watch the tram car please....
Atari did a lot of great games and systems. They do a lot of right. But I've yet to see Frontier do anything awesome, and Atari screwed up in releasing that game before it had been tested.

People talk about Atari a lot as if it still has anything to do with the Atari of the early 80's, but honestly little has survived other than the name.

No doubt, Nolan Bushnell left a LOOOOOONNGG time ago. The "Atari" of today is really the old French company Infogrames...

That's right Lord G, you are suppoer the Frenchies!

I had already figured that when I saw the Original RCT1 under the atari name and that when i install the origninal the expansion pack (that still says infogrames) installs under the atari directory (unlike the first original that installed under Infogrames Interactive).

Not yet. I have several projects in progress but when Soaked was announced I put work into them on hold since I needed tunnels for some of them, and had some waterpark ideas as well. Soaked is coming at the right time for me...it just seems to fit in with what I was already doing and fills the gaps nicely.

Once the final version of Soaked is released I will be hard at work at finishing some of the things I have started. You can however see a pic that I did with the beta on Atari's site and I am working on something else for next Friday's screenshot release.

My pic from beta can be seen here (next to last one):

Okay...yay..my pic got picked this week. So you can see what I did with the lasers and some of the Atlantis theming in Soaked. It's still a work in progress and I don't consider it done in that pic, but at least the general idea is there.

Some good pics in this week's batch from others too.

Yeah I have a few things I want to release after Soaked! comes out. Unfortunately I'll have to do a lot of work to one park since work I've done in the beta may not work in the retail version. I'm taking lots of pictures though and am really proud of my work. I would have never imagined I'd get so 'into' RCT3.
