Pretty Perilous Plunge...

Hopefully they get it up and running, so it will be open for summer. It was supposed to be finished last summer! I want to ride this thing when it's hot out. It gets old riding when it's 60 degrees outside!
when i watched thrills chills and spills, i thought that the people on the bridge did't even get that wet. they should have put the bridge closer to the drop.
If you stand on the bridge, you will get very much wet. Especially if you keep standing there! Seriously, many of the angles in TCS didn't give the ride its dues. You just have to be there and experience it for yourself.

The Thrills Chills & Spills program's footage of Perilous Plunge was filmed in the winter season around November, December. That is when the magnetic breaks are turned to their max., and slow the boats down to reduce splash size and wetness factor. In the summer, the splash created by the boats will go way over the bridge and will completely engulf the spectators standing on it. That is when the magnetic brakes are off.
I beg your pardon, but the Perilous Plunge footage was shot in April. I know because I was there on that boat for almost six drenching hours.Anybody even close to it got WET!
April is still chilly...for California anyway. :)
