Hi~
I'm compiling a list of established coaster events that are "musts" for any coaster fan. Here is my list:
1. Holiday World's "Stark Raven Mad"
2. Cedar Point's "Coastermania"
3. Knoebel's "Phall Phunfest"
Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks.
SRM is the only one I think you can't miss (right after CoasterBuzzCon ;)).

forgetting the First Annual CBCon is a crime of sorts...;) - but Jeff will have to decide on an approriate punishment...
The ACE Cons are great too....how's a coaster-crazed lunatic to get all this time off? This will be our first CM, last year was our first SRM and PPP....good times!
I've never been to one, as I'm not an ACE member, but I'm looking forward to my first event at SRM later this month, and CBCon shortly thereafter.
Although not techinically coaster events, E-ride nights at Magic Kingdom are some of the most fun I've ever had at a park.

Doesn't it seem as though morons always have the caps lock on?
Those are the "big three" in my book. (Actually CoasterMania is LESS important than PPP or SRM, in my opinion)

For me, Stark Raven Mad is the only event I feel like I HAVE to go to. Every year I have gone, the event has grown on me even more than the last time and I know it just wouldn't feel right if I didn't attend. I haven't missed a single one yet, and don't plan on anytime in the future either.
I attended one PPP event. While it was great fun, I could easily skip it again this year without feeling like I was missing something.
The two best events I have attended (besides SRM) were the 1995 Coaster Celebration at Six Flags St. Louis (held the weekend before the first SRM). I got in over 100 rides on the new Batman in two days thanks to the amazing ERT they had for us.
Back then, ERT was a big part of why I wanted to go to an event and the park didn't dissapoint anyone. They had like 4 coasters opened at one time, for two hours before the park was to open for the day, and two hours after the park closed for the night. Two days in a row.
Another event that I had a LOT of fun at was last years CAC event in Silverwood. There were only about 25 people that showed up for the event, and Tremors went down right before ERT, but in return we got in over an hour of some of the best ERT I could remember.
The park shut off all the lights and we had a awesome time riding Timber Terror over and over while looking up at the star filled sky, while taking in the crisp Idaho air. No one had to leave the train the entire ERT either.
Nowdays, ERT doesn't mean as much to me as it did before. I mean, look at SRM. I have never gotten in more than 30 rides during the entire ERT, but I find it to be THE event to go to. It litterally is like a big party in the middle of nowhere. The people are stellar. The rides are amazing and the atmosphere can't be matched.
That is why I love SRM!

I've been going to Knoebels long before the days of the Phoenix, and to this day I've never seen the big draw to the PPP. It's usually pretty cold and the lines are just as long as usual if not longer. Maybe it's because I don't like halloween.
But I would rather be at Knoebels, on a hot summer day in July, then just about anywhere else in the world.
