I was thinking the same thing. The friend I'm bringing loves coasters so I'm not worried about his reaction after riding Raven, Legend, and Voyage...I know he'll love 'em. But to bring a friend who is "terrified"? Honestly I'm not so sure that's a great idea.
He is a big chicken but once he gets on a few times he will have a blast. It was the same way at VF. He was scared to death on WT and then rode it all day. Half of his fear is actually of getting stuck which I find amusing. If they have to stop him on the lift he will freak out. Also, we have to drive because he is scared of flying. ;) *** Edited 4/21/2007 6:21:33 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

I think I may have gotten mine off after yours, gator. Quite an interesting story, actually. After being insanely busy this week (working job 1 from 10:00am-4:00pm, then directly to job 2 from 6:00pm-2:30am every day this week) I didn't have a chance to come on the buzz since Sunday. So, I printed the flyer, filled it out and wrote the check, then was going to make a mad dash to the post office to make sure it got today's post mark. On my way to the post office, there was insane traffic... I'm thinking "Oh crap, there goes another $15" :) Well, I decided to turn down a side street to try and bypass the traffic. Turns out, there was a mailman still delivering the mail... I rolled down the window, and asked him if I gave it to him instead if it would still get today's postmark. He assured me it would.

I felt like I was rushing to get my taxes in (although THOSE I had before the deadline :) )

Doubt it -- I got to my post office a half-hour before closing time today, specifically to make sure it was properly postmarked.

Your envelope was just hand-delivered to me, Bill. Steven from Marketing stood in my office doorway shouting: "GEEK ALERT! GEEK ALERT!"

My response: "Let me guess ... Bill from Florida's HoliWood Nights registration, right?"

Death ... taxes ... and Bill's goofily decorated envelopes. :)

I plan to be there with at least one guest, I know that I will pay late registration fees. I am a procrastinator....so tax me one more time! ;)- I already have hotel room booked so I am good there.

LOL, I thought he was kidding.
What hotels are nearby and inexpensive? We're not sure if we are going yet so we don't have a room booked so which places would still be avialable and somewhat cheap?
Check out:

for nearby hotels. I know the Days Inn Jasper still has rooms for about $54 a night if you pre-pay or have AAA. *** Edited 4/24/2007 8:31:19 PM UTC by CoasterfanPN***

Wanna take a guess at which of the three you're most likely to avoid? ;)

Hope it brought a chuckle...or a smile...maybe a wince... :)

Regarding nearby hotels...

I procrastinated this year and it looks as though all cheap hotels nearby are already booked. The best option I found was a Quality Inn located in Huntingburg, IN (about 17 miles from the park). I was able to book it for $62.99 a night with AAA (or $69.99 without).

If cost is not an issue, there is a Comfort Inn in Ferdinand, IN (about 7 miles away) going for $109.99 per night.
