Ok so what coasters were you terrified of and what did it take to get you on a coaster for the first time? I was deathly afraid of whirlwind at knoebels til I went on it and started going on bigger and bigger til I went to cp and rode mf.

I was sort of shaky when MF came out. the first time saw it i was like OMG! It looks bigger than it did on the pictures!:)
I'd say the coaster I was afraid of was Steel Force, because of the shear height of 200 feet, on SROS at SFDL, I was unafraid because I really didn't see how high the lift was. To get on Steel Force I just decided what the heak the worst that can happen is I get a heart attack :)

Talon is going to rock, roll, and take its toll!
when i was small, the American Eagle scared me. I finally went on it. I loved it, then I went on my first upside-down coaster, the Tidal Wave.
when i was 8 i wussed out at PKDs OL:FOF. I hate myself!!! But this summer I will get to go on the PKI one!!!

i was never scared to go on roller coasters. The first coaster i went on was Runnay Train at Six Flags Great Adventure when i was 6. Then when i was 8 i went on Rolling Thunder, then my next roller coaster was Batman:the ride when i was 11. Thats what got me into roller coasters so much. And now its 4 years later and my whole life is roller coasters.

NITRO! The Next Sphere of Thrills!
April 7, 2001
Hey Nitro 2001, thats the exact same order of my first rides! I thought the train was kind of boring though so i went straight to Rolling thunder then to Batman. I have been an addict ever since and i cant wait for Nitro!

Nitro - The Next Sphere Of Thrills!
I was scared the first time I went on Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom(I was about 5 at the time). I kept my eyes closed the whole time, which is kind of ironic when you think of it. I was also scared to go on the Demon at SFGAm which was the first upside-down one I went on.

"I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn."
I remember being terrified of the Racer at PKI when I was young. (Back when it was the 'big' coaster at the park.) When I finally rode it, I loved it, but the Screamin Demon still scared the crap out of me.
Now there isn't much that scares me but I still get all nervous when riding a Turbo Drop (Supreme Scream) and although I'm looking forward to returning to PKI and riding Drop Zone, I'm sure I'll be terrified.
BTW, how cool would it be if there was a ride like Drop Zone where each seat dropped individually, at random intervals? Just sitting there waiting, when all of a sudden your neighbors are gone...
I was terrified of all roller coasters until I was 12. my brother then got me on Looper at Hershey. Then I went on Comet about a year later by myself because I was afraid it would fall apart every time I would see it the year before.
I had never been on a looping coaster untill I went to BGT when I was 7. My dad convinced me to go on it and I loved it. Kumba had just opened that year and I was mad because I was too short to go on it!

SFNE 2001
First coaster I rode was the Beastie at PKI. Then, I went on Adventure Express (dont remember any ages), the Racer, and worked up from that!!!!

I was never realy scared to go on the coasters. When I was 8 I cryed my eyes out at CP cause I was an inch and a half too short to ride the "big coasters". The next year, I got to hit Magnum, and MS (which were the big ones then, lol).

SOB Rides-2
when i was 10(now i'm 18) i was afraid to ride the sidewinder at HP because of how it went backwards. i finally rode it 5 yrs later it was fun. i was also afraid to ride the Anaconda at PKD because of how it went underwater in a tunnel.
I was scared to go on Kumba at first. It took until like 6pm for me to get on it, then I loved it.
When I was younger I was deathly afraid of roller coasters. I would love to watch them, but I would draw blood before riding one. I was around 5 when I was literally dragged kicking and screaming on Matterhorn Bobsleds at Disneyland. After that, I was even more terrified and refused to talk to my father and older brother for about 2 weeks. Then when I was 8, something amazing happened. I was once again forced on a coaster, which happened to be KBF's Montezooma's Revenge, and I loved it! Ever since then I've been a coaster maniac and have successfully converted everyone else in my family to be the same :)
Actually the only time I've ever been scared on a coaster is the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood. I wasn't very sure about those restraints the first time I rode...

On the Jack Rabbit, you kind of got to hold on. I've heard stories about parents grabbing their children to keep them from flying out of the car. Lap bars would be safer, but would take some of the fun out of the ride.
I always
loved getting literally thrown from my seat on Jack Rabbit. I remember riding it over and over with my brother's friend, who just thought it was hilarious that I'd fly so far up.
The first "big" coaster I rode was Steel Phantom. It didn't take long for that bad boy to get a legendary reputation, and after hearing the stories, just getting in line for it was scary enough.
Truth be known, after not riding it for about 7 or 8 years ('93ish to 2000), it was almost like riding it for the first time all over again... scared the living daylights out of me.

After riding Raging Bull in 1999, there's no coaster* that will scare me.
I got over my fear of drop rides also. Now I just put my arms and legs out and fly.
