PPP: How many years for you?

I was shocked that the line for Twister was so short... it was practically a walk-on, at least between 7 and 8. I've never seen the line for that coaster so short before. Despite the cold weather, it was another great one... I'm just sorry that I didn't stay overnight for the GCII tour the following day.

Well, there's always next year...

You have to put me in the "and counting" category. Made my first visit this year, and I had a great time. Defintely going to be on the agenda for next year, and will defintely have to bring more friends next time.

It was nice to meet some of the coaster folks from here (hey moosh :)).

The Phoenix alone was worth the trip, and better yet, my coaster-riding companion in crime, who has always hated wood coasters, is now reconsidering her position. Woo hoo a convert!

My friend Linette was a coaster "non-lover" until one fateful October Saturday, about ten or so years ago. Now she'll go on anything. Thanks, Phoenix!

I finally got to meet mOOSH this year and checked out S&D's 2004 Wood Coaster Calendar... I picked up a couple copies and I'd advise anyone to do the same. The pictures are excellent (great choice of wooden coasters, not just the usual "favorites" like the Beast and CI Cyclone)... if you're looking for a perfect gift to give a coaster enthusiast this year, definitely consider one, as well as one for yourself! I also got to meet Coasterpunk at the bonfire, who made me jealous that I wasn't sticking around for the GCII tour on Sunday!

This was my first PPP also and my girlfriend and I had a great time. The Phoenix was great fun with all the air and relentless speed. We rode the Twister not long after ERT on it started and neither of us were too impressed. We then went back to ride after the sun went down (around 9-9:30) and were surprised to find a completely ferocious and fun coaster. We also absolutely loved the High Speed Thrill Coaster! The gentleman operating the ride let you go around the circiut at least 8-10 times per ride!

We will definately return to PPP next year.

The High Speed Thrill Coaster is definitely one of the most underrated steel coasters around! I'd ride that thing over a bunch of full-size rides!

This was my second year, and I'll probably never attend again.

Just kidding.

I don't think we could have had a better time at a park than we did this past Saturday night.

Wow...thanks, Rob, for the review of our calendar. It did prove to be quite popular and I'm quite proud of how it turned out. It was great finally meeting you, too...and your mask ROCKED!

Speaking of dead horses... ;) Bill, a pleasure to meet up with you again! Too bad we didn't get some riding time in, with the exception of one Twister ride, but the time spent there at Knoebels was wonderful, albeit extremely moist! :)

You said moist.

It was good to finally meet most (all?) of the CPG. Barring some catastrophe, I will most definitely be in for next year.

On a completely random note, how many PPP's has Knoebels hosted?

I THINK as many as there have been summers with the Phoenix. I am pretty sure that they started the PPP in '85 when the coaster was added.

I don't know the exact age, but there was a story posted recently on RRC about how PPP started unofficially when some coaster nuts realized that the park re-opened for the Covered Bridge Festival and started going for "last rides". The park decided to officially welcome the enthusiasts, and the event caught on.

I wonder if any people from those "unofficial" years still attend? I know that there are a few faces that looked to be veterans when I first started going!

I wonder when the whole "Halloween Costume" idea came to be?
