Power outage at SFGAm

Despite what the NBC site says, other media outlets (with nothing on their websites) have said the park has closed for the remainder of the day.

Ive been told by a few people that the park is still open today.

I was at the park a few weeks ago and there was an outage. It took about an hour to get everything back open, but after that there were no problems. Chances are the park remained open.
They also said it happens quite often on those really hot days.

I'm surprised that there was no sentence on the NBC5 site like: "A day at the amusement park turns into a day of terror when several rides get stuck with people on them..." along with pictures of "terrified" guests awaiting "rescue."

Oh wait, it's not Sweeps week :)

Unfortunately, you were too close to the mark, Jimmybob.

From the ChicagoTribune article:

Some visitors were stuck for about 20 minutes on a roller coaster called the Demon before being led down a pathway adjacent to the tracks.

I was on Powerdive when the power went out once. The ship just sways like a pendulum until it finally stops. The ride ops then come around with metal bars to unlock the restraints.
