Possible Waldameer Buy Out?

I was just wondering since there are so many problems with Waldameer Park in Erie, PA that Cedar Fair may buy it.  It would make sense seeing that there hasn't been a major addition to the park for quite a while.  Also, there is the waterpark (which is nice).  Don't most of Cedar Fair's parks have a water park to go along with it? Well, I would love to see your thoughts and opinions on this.......thanks.

Erie is a unique situation. If Waldameer is a success, than Conneaut Lake will not make it and If Conneaut somehow expands then Waldameer would be screwed. Two small parks that haven't killed each other yet. Very interesting.

If Cedar Fair bought out Waldameer Park, it wouldn't make a lick of difference what happens! I mean, the fact that the owner of Waldameer Park WANTS to put in the classic woodie is all good & plenty. It's the NIMBY neighbors who are stopping them from any additions.

Not to mention that the park itself isn't that huge, and I don't see them being a part of a large chain unless there is some undeveloped land I don't know about.

Not to mention AGAIN that in Pennsylvania, you already have Dorney Park which is another Cedar Fair owned park, so it wouldn't make too much sense to have all those parks so close owned by the same company.

I think it boils down to those neighbors... actually it's just one in particular, and if they'd realize what GOOD it'd do to let them put the wooden coaster there (ie: the increase in attendence, the increase in THEIR own business...etc), everything would be ok!!
