Possibe New TA2K Track Sighting...

... or it could be something else On the S&S website, on the video for the Fun-G you can see that there is track and supports for what looks like a TA2K.

It cannot be for an existing ride because it appears that the track is pink, and the supports are brown (color does appear to be a little distorted however.)

Interesting... I wonder if that track would fit on the three mystery footers at CP.

I don't care about the TA2K!!!!!! I wanna go on the ride that Stan is filmed on!!!!!

Not to be a naysayer, but that looked like a drop or shot tower to me.

Awfuly straight to be a TA2k, plus the gauge was all wrong, look at it in relation to the car next to it.

Stupid quicktime...
Neither "Turbo Drop" or "Space Shot" towers need the supports in the pictures.

Look in the bottom right, you'll see pink supports. Could be a TA2K. If that's not track, it could be supports for the vertical hill.

The pink better be primer/undercoat! ;)

Well I hope it means that someone bought the new TA2K model from IAAPA 2001 Trade Show. That vertical turnaround looked so sweet.

To me, its clearly TA2K track... Its only expected that its going to have alot of straight track, specifically for the launch section, along with the station, brakes, and other parts of the ride. As to the track gauge, it looks perfect to me.

If you ask me where its going, I'd say, yes, my best guess is Cedar Point, for 2003. I explained why I think so at the bottom of this page, over at GTTP.

Though Cedar Point doesn't need another ride with low capacity, I think that a Thrust Air would fit in greatly at the park. Has anybody noticed how Abosloutely Insane is not listed as one of their rides?

Does anyone have any shots of the new TA2K layout from IAAPA 2001 Trade Show?

I wanna see that turnaround!

xShorty...a 200 ft. portion of one of the towers on VertiGo fell down at CP this past winter due to vertex shearing, I believe. They removed it because they figured ridership would decrease and because of the bad press. They also removed it from Knott's Berry Farm.

Perhaps S&S doesn't want the bad press either, or they have abandoned making any more...

We havent heard much from S&S since the AI problems and I was told they have gote back to the drawing boards to redesign it. I also wouldnt count on that supposed TA2k track to be going anywhere next year. With the problems that they have had at PKD, most parks are on a wait and see attitude with their newest TA, Dodonpa. I really hope Stan and the gang can bounce back from these setbacks and build more of these things. The main obstacle in their way is the new Intamin launch system. Their design can do so many other things than the TA can. Intamin has proven that they can exceed 100mph with that launch and I would bet they are already working on a coaster that will break S&S's speed record *cough* Cedar Point*cough* ;)

Theme parks will NEVER be the same!

Does anyone remember the issue with Cedar Point and S&S Power after the VertiGo partial collapse? They said, I believe here on CoasterBuzz.com, that Cedar Point and S&S would still have a good connection despite the VertiGo encounter, and S&S would give a discount on a later project at the park, hint hint, new footers and new track, and no one knows where the tracks going, and whats up at Cedar Point with the new footers?

I like this statement a lot...especially from someone in the industry...:)

Rctycoon2k, Cedar Point plans developments at least 2 years in advance. If they poured the footers for an S&S, it was already planned. That isn't to say that they couldn't get a discount on a Fingee though...

just had a thought about these CP footers. Xcelerator has 2 major footers, maybe something along the lines of xcelerator but on a larger scale and so requiring 3 major footers could launch on to the point?!

xcelerator has footers 1/2 the size of a tennis court.

That looks like standard tower truss to me, not track. Besides, it's my understanding that S&S did not manufacture the actual Thrust Air track (I think it was Setpoint or Premier, which in turn contracts out).

That's what I said, but no one wanted to believe me. It's even the same colour as the tower going in by the WWF thing in new york, IIRC.

But, obviously, it's cedar point's new TA2k inverted standup woodie that's 500 feet tall.
