Poseidon water coaster

Possibley the coolest water coaster ever... http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery1891.htm?Picture=4

Just thought I would share.

The Beast, at night, Nothing better.

I've regretted not going on it ever since we were there (it was brand new then, forgot the year)

That does look awesome.

I went on Atlantis last year and wasn't that impressed. The theming was good, but I don't really know much about the story so riding a ride like Splash Mountain with Brer Rabbit was more fun.

Also the problem was that it was pretty boring at the begginning and middle, and the last coaster part was thrilling, but sorta rough and short.

It's probably just seems rough though because I rode Kraken 17 times before I rode it. Go figure.

Poseidon is just another beautifully themed Europa Park masterpiece...the station is actually *carved out of stone*, not faux stone like even Disney would use.

The initial water section has some great ruined style theming, and the coaster sections are zippy as well.

A terrific ride at an amazing park...

It goes under a Trojan horse to if memory serves me right

Yep here is a picture of it going under the horse

This picture shows one of my favourite parts of Poseidon, the airtime hill right after the second - and largest - drop. Much more airtime than on Silver Star!

That's a nice shot of the station. As said above, the station is a very detailled replica of an ancient Greece temple. I was very impressed when I first saw it. I followed ancient-Greek classes for two years, and I recoginised a lot of traditional Greek features in this station. The writing on the back of the station is actually ancient Greek, and tells the story of Odysseus! That's what I call detail.

And that's a picture of the one of Poseidon's models, a early artist impression. Looks pretty cool, but not half as cool as the final product though. Poseidon truly is one of the best water rides I've ever done.

Nice picture...even with the huge 240ft. B&M on the background. ;)

I agree, this did look very cool in Robb Alvey's Euro Coaster Odyssey. High speed, too.

Damn. I am going to be over there for two weeks in March, my first trip to Europe, but Europa Park will not be open. In fact, I think the only European Park that will be open is Disneyland Paris. This really sucks, but I guess I'll just have to make another trip over there in the summer sometime. ;)

Bakken (worlds oldest amusementpark) open on March 27th
