Popular Mechanics publishes Sensationalistic Garba

I read the article, and I thought it defended coasters well. I thought it conveyed that information very well. However the front cover does not put good emphasis on the topic. The pictures don't do the article justice either. They Show loch Nests Monster for no reason. When they did a run down on the left hand side of one of the pages they list it as "Deadliest coasters in the world!"

I think that is what upsets me the most because as I was reading on the kitchen table in my house my father passed by. He said "Oh wow the deadliest coaster, how many people died on those, and did we ride any of them" Popular mechanic's (speaking for all involved in the magazine production) knew what they where doing. They know bold statements like those stated in the article get peoples attention. The problem with that is people sometimes do not read the whole article. They only get pieces of the facts.

That is why you have people are parks behind you in line saying they heard someone got their legs chopped off on this ride, so in the first big loop thingy lift your legs! Other then those small little marketing ploys the article was OK. I do need to reread it because I was not really focused on the article at the time as much as I would have liked to be.

And Ploping down in a seat causes 10 Gs!! I knew it was fun as a kid, little did I know.

Of course with paul Ruben, it's probably a few more G's;)

hadta do it! Nite all!
