Police search Sega after fatal fall

Police investigating a fatal fall from a ride at a Tokyo amusement park began searching the head office of park operator Sega Corp. and other offices Thursday. They are looking into possible professional negligence resulting in Monday's deadly plunge by a 30-year-old man, sources said.

I loathe the fact they started callign him Eggman. I know it was a derogatory comment to Robotnik, but he's Robotnik!

What do they mean, "possible professional negligence"? Wasn't it stated in an earlier article that ride ops brought it to a manager's attention and he said let them ride anyway?
