It's not the first time that names been used by SF. SFNO catwomans whip.
Chuck, who finds her character far more popular and recognizable than Poison Ivy The ride with it's super long train also kinda fits the description of a whip as well as a tangled train as sometimes the front of the train is passing the rear. *** Edited 3/15/2007 10:30:00 PM UTC by Charles Nungester***
I think this is a silly thing to do. With all the problems and budget cuts that six flags is going thrue, changing the name of a coaster should be one of the last things on there list.

But what about Wonder Woman? I'm still amazed she hasn't gotten her due yet in a SF ride. At least Aquaman is finally getting some love this year. I agree the name change seems silly.
I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
I was always stumped as to how she ever found the invisible jet. Did she just run around the air field until she ran into something?

But PITT was a good acronym considering it's March Madness and all....LOL!
Seriously though, I don't recall who said it or where....but doesn't SF have bigger fish to fry. (Metaphor strategically selected for a Friday during Lent - and I'm not even Catholic).
I think a lot of the changes are just the beginning of new brands for Six Flags. I wouldn't be suprised to see more in the future (though you would think they'd add a brand to a ride that doesn't have one already).
Well it's far less expensive to rename an already existing ride than it is to build a new one....look what they're doing to TSC by re-naming it skull mountain for instance.
It may be less expensive to raname the ride, but it still cost's money to do that. And six flags has no money to spare right now as it is.
I would rather see them spend that money on ride maintnance, so that maybe I could actually go to a six flags park and (gasp) be able to ride all the coasters because they are actually open.
